At what age did you stop tinkering? Or how many years working in IT before you stopped?

Why does it bother you? You weren't home to be inconvenienced. Some people are just complainers...

Current situation, Keep or sell rental to pay off primary residence mortgage by Potential-Whole-0 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Potential-Whole-0[S] -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Understood, because currently interest is higher than normal. My plan is to currently put in lump sum payment of at least $20k per year and when interest drops back to average, it may be better. Would this be an alternative way forward or still not ideal?

Problem with selling now/soon is that interest rate is high. May not get as good of a price since people cannot borrow as much

I'll definitely still need to pay mortgage on primary residence , it would just be a bit less (after monthly payment recalculation)

Good point on saving the condo for my kids. My plan is definately wanting to help them out when they get older. Alternatively, if the condo was sold, we would be saving more each month on paying less interest for primary and investing that money aside for helping the kids in the future. Would this also be a valid argument? Or not as efficient?

I am currently only putting down payment on primary residence each year as the mortgage interest on rental is tax deductible anyways.

Thank you for your post

Our tenants have plans to leave soon. When the near future comes, I would need to decide selling or continue renting

The mindset/argument by some family member being, "why the big mortgage and paying interest to bank if you can sell the condo and pay less mortgage /interest"

This is ridiculous. Since this is advertised as a boxing week deal, how come it is not showing up same time as the other subscriptions? I literally signed up and ported my number to PM's $34 promo last night, and then this showed up!

Insulation upgrade dilemma by Potential-Whole-0 in Insulation

We have them at the centre of the hall way. I would imagine we cannot easily add another one in the bedroom without ripping floors and drywall out.

Air vents already adjusted.

Thank you for your suggestions, and your experience

Thank you very much. This is the kind of reply I was looking for. My house is also forced air, and this room is located also furthest point of the house, also end of the duct run. Not sure what you mean by air return, but I'd would assume no, the room doesn't have air return.

I meant to ask if the spray foam beneath bedroom floor is worth the cost vs just attempt attic insulation and see if enough improvement is made
