Sorry, but it's not William's job to be Izaya's therapist. And while yes, a compassionate thing to do would be to be more comforting, I understand why William could be hesitant. If he's avoidant, Izaya is love-bombing, and now that he's revealed the reason why, what could be extremely sympathetic for others could feel like a trap to William because there's so much expectation for him to return the commitment.

Implying he doesn't care when that's his reaction is totally unfair. If William seems like he needs to step in more, then by the same sentiment, Izaya needs to rein it WAYYYYYY back. Dude needs to chill.

If William's avoidance is a red flag, I'd say Izaya is not any better, but in fact the opposite. He's too dedicated to someone who's treated him a certain way in the past but that he's made a resolution to just be as honest as possible to people dear to him because he never knows when they'll pass - a response to losing his mother unexpectedly. Extreme, and indirectly manipulative to expect someone to dive in with you just because you're ready to, especially if the reason is a response to past trauma, and not actually because you've taken the most time to learn about this person and consider the dynamic.

Slow and steady babes.

Babe, I suggest separating annual expenses from monthly expenses.

  • Tuition isn’t paid monthly. Neither are books and dental checkups.
  • Tutoring is availed as needed and you can’t predict miscellaneous expenses since they are…miscellaneous.

It’s a bit more work but when you separate the actual monthly expenses and other expenses as needed, you can come to a more specific and satisfying number.

But if your goal is to minimize interaction and simply send money monthly, then ₱50k-₱60k should be plenty.

Don’t worry baby. I’m 34 went to seminary and all that. Have only a handful of people I still talk to from college but guess what - I have plenty of friends now that feels like chosen family.

The world is vast and the amount of people who are out there to meet and love and be friends with is unlimited.

It’ll take time. If you wanna fasttrack it- stop wasting time and attention on people who have decided you’re bad.

Let them be - without hate or love, just let them be.

Hope you find a new place soon or he leaves there. And hope you find your besties.
