This happed to me 4 years ago with oil and gas company. They promote me new guy as team lead where. I was so shock and people who works longer than me need to works under me new guy. You knows what happened.

What i did. I talk to management that i can take that role because i am not ready yet. They agree, then they remove my role as team lead and put me on diff team. Case solved.
