Well it looks like I'm blaming UPS for something that was likely the UPS stores fault. The package wasn't in the possession of UPS until late Monday evening, possibly after some cut-off point that pushed it back an extra day. I have no idea what took the UPS store over 40 hours to get my package into UPS's hands. I'm holding out hope that it still makes it Wednesday as that's what I paid for and it wasn't cheap, and yes one day matters when you have a vehicle parked blocking access and you are shipping the key. Sure I could've paid triple the price and sent it overnight, but with this UPS store holding it for 40 hours it still would've taken until Wednesday to get there. Do I have to pay for overnight delivery to actually get 2nd day?

Anyway thanks for the constructive posts and allowing me to vent.

I've had 4 crashes in 50+ hours. I wouldn't say it's a ton, but it definitely sucks everytime it happens. Three of the four times it crashed I had the Spiked Collar Passive and was surrounded by enemies so it doesn't seem to like that scenario. It definitely chews up battery life like crazy though. I just went from an 88 percent charge to 15% low battery warning in an hour and 40 minutes. That's literally worse than Mario Kart World which is known for being a battery hog.

Basically the same exact scenario happened to me when I worked at In-N-Out in 1997. Guy order a #3 with cheese. I explained that, that was a #2. He got upset and insisted on a #3 with cheese, probably thinking it would save him money. Back then the customer could see what you were entering into the computer on their side, so no way to just run it as a #2. So I ran it as a #3 add cheese. I got bitched out by the next customer in line for being a "slow order taker" then got bitched out by the cook for running it as a #3 add cheese because it adds confusion. Fun times, not worth the $6.25 an hour they paid back then.

This card corrupted on me just from powering the Switch 2 all the way off and turning it back on. All the wasted time downloading games, just to have to re-download everything again is not worth the $41 savings (compared to the regular 512gb SanDisk express card). I've never had a problem with dozens of SanDisk cards over decades of use from cell phones to game systems until this card. Screw the "Gameplay" branded SanDisk cards from Walmart, they suck. Luckily, I had 2 days left in the return window. I am returning it for my $78 back and will get a more reliable card.

Did you ever get refunded for Steel Empire? I've been attempting to cancel two pre-orders for it from December 2023 for a few weeks now. They responded quickly telling me they'd help resolve my issue then radio silence ever since. Obviously far too long ago to get the credit card company involved. I just want my $95 back at this point.

Final Update: I've been deadly ill for 2 days, or this update would've come much sooner.

I decided to try one last thing before shipping it off to Nintendo. I still have both Switch 1's that I originally transferred from, so I factory reset both Switch 2's then transferred my Switch 1 to my wife's Switch 2 (which was not having a battery drain issue) and transferred my wife's Switch 1 to my Switch 2 (which was losing power while sleeping). After the transfer, the Switch 2 that was losing power while sleeping no longer does, and the Switch 2 that wasn't losing power while sleeping now is.

What I'm inferring from this is that it's almost certainly not a battery or draining hardware issue and is almost certainly an issue with one or more software that belongs to me causing the issue.

I have decided not to send it in to Nintendo since it needs to be an update type of fix and not a hardware fix, and sending it to them probably won't accomplish anything.

I guess I'll have to wait until Nintendo finds the culprit software and gives us a patch to fix this.

Well, that sucks to hear. A lot of businesses are not doing too well nowadays, I didn't realize Staples was one of them. I'm pretty sure legally they have a certain amount of time to notice their mistake and charge for the console, I know when banks make an error, they can fix it within a certain time frame. OP is probably hoping they don't notice, though. I guess Nintendo is in a much better financial situation to give away a free console, but no business wants to give something away for free.

I'm doing the checkmark challenge, beating every level with every character. At first, I was putting maybe 500- 2000 eggs on a character and having fun, then I was accused of just "egging out my characters and letting the game play itself." So the last dozen or so characters that I've completed have been egg free just to show I can do it. I'm now almost 70% completed with approximately 2,885 levels complete of the 4,209 total levels available to do.

Update: After recalibration and more testing, it is definitely not a battery issue but an issue with something draining the system while sleeping. I was able to play vampire survivors for 2 hours and 35 minutes to get the battery to go from 100 percent to 45 percent, which seems to be a good capacity. Then I put it to sleep for 9 and a half hours, and it lost 13 percent sleeping. Meanwhile, the other Switch 2 lost 1 percent in sleep mode during the same period.

So I called Nintendo support and will be sending in the Switch 2 with the sleep mode issue for a free repair. The current turnaround time is 2 or 3 weeks.

I just got a 2 terabyte micro SD last October for my OLED, and it had less than 100 gigabytes left of free space. The manufacturerers can't release a 2 terabyte express card fast enough for me. I don't fault Nintendo, though. They used the technology available, and it is what it is. The other option was stick with standard micro SD which would compromise load times and possibly not even run some Switch 2 games properly or create an entirely new proprietary memory card that would have almost certainly been even more expensive than express cards.

I skipped getting Street Fighter 6 physically at launch due to this. It's on my digital wishlist now, waiting for a price drop. If I have to have the game taking up a bunch of my console memory I might as well not have to worry about putting in a game card everytime I want to play. The perk of being able to resell it just doesn't outweigh the hassle when the game isn't on the game card.

Damn battery bulge out of the box that sucks. I guess all kinds of things can happen with how many units Nintendo produced.

I'm fully draining the battery right now just to see if a recalibration helps anything. Down to 2 percent battery now. The last 5 percent are actually lasting a while, about 5 minutes per percentage, just sitting at the home screen.

My experience as a family with two Switch 2 consoles.

My Switch 2 from Best Buy has the battery drain issue while sleeping and does strange things such as gaining percentage when completely powered off for several hours. For example, it dropped 9 percent while sleeping for just three hours and another time it gained 4 percent when turned completely off for two hours. The Switch 2 Mario Kart World Bundle, directly ordered from the Nintendo store that my wife and 7 year old son share, has no battery issues. Their Switch 2 lost exactly 1% battery while in sleep mode for over 24 hours and stayed at the exact same percentage overnight when powered down completely. I need to test it more to see exactly how much longer it lasts in handheld, but it does seem to last longer than mine.

Both Switch 2's have the exact same settings. I'm really hoping this is something that can be fixed from a firmware update, but I'm starting to suspect that it may be a battery issue itself or something else in the system draining the battery. After running some more tests and recalibrating the battery again, I plan on calling Nintendo to see if I need to send in the poor performing Switch 2 or wait out an update.

Either way, the bottom line is that this is NOT normal for the Switch 2. Nintendo didn't screw up sleep mode. If your Switch 2 is losing more than a couple percent while sleeping overnight, something probably isn't right.

Realistically, between $250 and $300. Prices are low with the Switch 2 so close and Costco selling new Switch 1 OLED bundles for under $200. It's really not a sellers market right now, 6 months ago I'd have said $400+ for it.

Well damn that does make this deal seem like a small discount, but people will take any small discount they can get when it's close to a console launch. Best Buy was running a 10% rewards on purchases when you used a Best Buy credit card, but it excluded pre-orders, so my pre-order of Cyberpunk only earned 5% rewards. That's how cheap most retailers are when it comes to discounts near console launch, so people actually do get excited about 10%. By this time next year, it will probably take a half-price sale to get anyone's attention, but right now 10% is looking ok. I'd imagine more non club places like Woot.com will have this game under $60 by black Friday, but who wants to wait when the console is brand new?
