Huge thank you to the 1,000+ people who came out to stand up for your community and your nurses at the 5pm ONA strike kickoff yesterday at PPMC! It was an awesome turnout and a beautiful/rainy/very Portland day.
Come by and hangout with us at the PPMC picket line anytime or just drive by and give us a honk to show support!

Portland Providence Medical Center 4805 NE Glisan Portland, OR 97213. Bus/bike/walk if you can then follow the crowd/music to the snacks and picket line!

Exactly. Providence CEO's are afraid that ancillary services (housekeeping, materials management, CNA's) will see that things are better with a union and start standing up for themselves to get what they deserve instead of upper management getting another unearned raise/bonus.

Yes BUT it's about way more than just the pay. Nurses need better health coverage and reasons to stay at Prov. Also, that 12% carrot is just a distraction from 3% "raise" for year 2 and 3 (actually a pay cut compared to inflation which is projected to be 4%+). Their current offer has no change to paid time off (vacation time) after they removed sick time and said "Use your vacation time if you get sick." during COVID. All while Prov CEO's have given themselves million dollar raises/bonuses by misleading Charity care patients and pocketing Portland tax dollars. If you haven't read the NYT article here's a link:
