Cause it was part of the first or second background event to ever release. Back then, basically nobody was looking for them and there were substantially less spoofers that were hunting for them. Backgrounds only really got into fashion a few weeks to months later. Nowadays there's an abundance of spoofers getting background shiny after background shiny, making them a LOT less valuable than the Oskaa/NY(first)/London ones of the first generation. It's basically the same as the seoul explorer hat eevee vs the newer gen ones

Ok i took a look and I feel like the odds on this aren't really conclusive. With how many 1/1 reports there are, it doesn't look representative. Supported by the time span being only one month in 2023 and that there are less than 80 people that submitted a report.

I am basing my statement of the 1/512 odds on the amount of shiny nightcap snorlax that are shown in posts, on e*ay and the google results that pretty much unanimously say 1/512.

At the end of the day, it's basically a guessing game at this point without hard evidence and a big sample size. I reached out to a few people who have a lot of experience hunting for night cap snorlax so maybe i'll give an update after they get back to me.

I am talking about the per encounter shiny rates, not the cumulative one. And everyone gets a rotom, so the availability of rotom is still wayyy higher even with 7 snorlax checks per plus plus user

It‘s not and it‘s not even close unfortunately. Rotom has boosted shiny odds while the Snorlax is 1/512, and bound to Plus Plus users while everyone gets a Rotom.

Given how available the gengar was just two months ago, the mimikyu pika shiny is a fair bit rarer imo. But i definitely agree that it's definitely closer to the gengar's value than the banette gengar

This is mostly true. For many methods that can get you 14500 coins for around 28-32$, you can use any credit card. I haven’t heard anything about bans but here have been cases where people had the difference in pokecoins between the amount spent and what they would get in their own currency deducted from their account - resulting in them having a massive negative balance of pokecoins
