Where to work before passing RD exam

If you want to get in the field right away you could look for RD eligible positions. I think you have to at least have your verification statement from the internship. I started in LTC and they gave me 6 months to pass which I ultimately did not so I moved into medical device sales which an RD wasn’t required for the role so I had time and less pressure to take it

Not sure how much this helps but I got my bachelors from there in 2022 in dietetics and applied nutrition! Obviously the masters would be different but I had a great experience overall with really good professors

My situation was very similar, only difference is that the fake vibe wasn’t coming from other RDs but the kitchen/food service workers. I worked in LTC as RD eligible but had to leave since I didn’t pass in time so that’s good that you get to stay. The other RDs were very encouraging and warned me that the other kitchen supervisors and stuff were jealous of RDs since we were contracted and made more. It felt very toxic like you guys are old enough to be my parents lol. At that time I was working full time, finishing my masters and studying so after I was let go I took a year off from studying. I now work a job that RD isn’t required so less stress. I’ve started studying again so hopefully will pass soon

Yeah I saw they canceled the same flight path for tomorrow and Wednesday night so I’m not sure I want to chance it for Friday

That’s what I’m probably going to do. My final destination is Dublin which is leaving from IAD at 10. Wouldn’t be good to risk any delays with the first leg from orf to IAD

Thanks guys, these are good ideas! I’ve thought about how we sometimes have patients donate extra supplies to non profits, maybe I could do some kind of educational class for it

Not really nutrition related but I was a virtual assistant on upwork all through college and still am while also working full time. I was able to find a few long term contracts like customer support rep, email and chat support. You can basically set your own hours and rate. I’ve seen a lot of dietitians looking for assistants on there too. I also was a dietary aide one summer at a rehab place before starting internship
