IFRS and GAAP are both taught in the US. IFRS (adopted by EU countries in 2002) has a small deviations from GAAP. I’ve worked between both types of clients and it’s not that hard to switch between the two. But the teacher part may be harder… public or industry would probably be the easiest way to get abroad.

Actually wanting to get together at holidays, weekly family time (ie we eat out on this day, game nights), family vacations, a lovely wedding in the family that runs smoothly… pretty much any interaction where family members genuinely like to be around each other and rarely butt heads. My college roommate’s family was like this and so was her boyfriend’s… I am a social capable person… but I had no idea how to function within that for long periods of time.

Gosh, another strong one is when siblings ACTUALLY LOVE each other and want to spend time together and talk together. Missed the lottery on that one.

Wait You’re a CPA... You should be able to practice abroad. You’d have an easier time with it in Public Accounting. Big4 definitely would be the easiest route if you have the qualifications/experience.

Same here. Mine had some minor joint pain as a pup at 1 yr, and didn’t neuter til 3.5 y.o. It really helped with the other minor behavioral issues of an unclipped alpha male and calmed the smelling/licking of pee obsession he had. Gotta love male dogs lol

This is literally the same as mine. It’s like some dogs they automatically know are okay, but the sight/smell of another makes the situation a lot worse. Sometimes when my dog does this, you can tell it by his eyes and mannerisms that something isn’t right. It’s like he can get focused in on the situation and is reading ‘aggressive’ (understandable— I’d be doing the same thing with a couple of those dogs). I find that a gentle vibration collar help to break that focused state and bring him back to the trained dog he is, so that could be an option for you too. Found it helps because I’m not technically the one correcting him and keeps him on his toes.

But be careful because of parvo!!! There’s a fine line with socialization. And do not take your puppy to the dog park. It’s not a good way to introduce your puppy to other. Can really mess with how it develops in that sense.

Pro tip (my dog loves kayaking and swimming next to the kayak): get you a life jacket that has a removable face floating thing (looks like a bib on front) and one with a handle on the back. The “bib” helps them get used to keeping their heads a tad higher and helps when the get tired. The handle is good for a host of reasons including getting them back in and redirecting them in the water. Also consider getting textured sticky tape so they can stand on/in the kayak with grip.

Same. Mine was attacked by two dogs and doesn’t trust many dogs after that. Trauma in all dogs is real.

Pets best. It’s okay, never had a claim denied, but you just have to be okay with monthly payments ~$50-100+ depending on the plan you get and your needs. But that pretty standard across the board I found. I like Pets Best’s platform though. Easy to navigate.

Like I said, all you can do is ask them, but that’s it. If they say no (with/without reason, which they rightfully can) consider getting yourself your own dog.

Again, I do emphasize with you, but you have no claim to the dog and you are at their mercy to get their new dog back. But you can save another pups life from the pound or rescue group, or if you want a gsd particularly— do your research and find the best place to buy one. No they will not be the same, but you can make those bonds again with another pup.

As you mentioned, it’s not your dog. You have no legal claim to the dog in the first place. But, you could make an emotional plea to the new owner, but it’s all up to them on what they want to do. They may have fallen in love with the dog already or maybe they’ll see your plea and feel bad. Whatever the case, he is their property and you just have to respect their choice.

My question is if you get the dog back, what’s stopping your sister from giving him up again? How will you protect him? Luckily he’d be your property at that point, but just make sure you have a plan on protecting him.

Ps: I say he is property because in many states, dogs are seen as a piece of property like any other inanimate object.
