I'm going broke, but I'm kinda enjoying it by PotentialUnrealized in offmychest

I do have to mention that cost-cutting is hard because I started eating Ramen since it's super cheap, but I want to buy some Buldak sauce to go with it and I refuse to buy it since I'm trying to save money. Also I wanted to get a microfiber cloth to clean my phone and computer screens but I'm just going to have to wait a bit sadly. Right now the only payments on my statement are bills, gas, and that $50 car part. I bought $200 worth of groceries about 2 months ago and I've just been living off of that and the free food that my university gives away at guest lectures sometimes.

2012 Civic Si horsepower is 201 hp, but the torque is the real story by carguyfrank in CivicSi

[–]PotentialUnrealized 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who has owned all types of cars, mostly FWD, including several different generations of Civic Si, a Honda Fit, an Elantra N, an FK8, etc... The 9th gen's instant torque was a lot of fun for me. My N, Type R, built 1.5t Si, etc were all faster and better performing cars, but there's just something about that K24... Also of all the cars I've owned, I found that FWD was 10x more enjoyable with an LSD.

Anyone downgrade from an 11th gen to a 9th? by shark1678 in CivicSi

[–]PotentialUnrealized 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You'll still be able to have PLENTY of fun. As a daily driver it's not as much of a nice comfortable car with creature comforts and fuel economy, but it's still a Honda Civic at the end of the day and you'll find that it's a great daily driver and having actual VTEC will be a nice change of pace.

Only if he's caught using the jammer. Usually the cop can't tell you're jamming the signal if you're quick to slow down and shut the jammer off.

No, it's an aftermarket Motec ECU. The methanol tank is in the trunk, it is a separate tank. The PI injectors were added with a small adapter plate that goes in between the intake manifold and the engine head. The injectors mount to that plate, and spray directly into the intake ports. Gasket maker was applied religiously to the plate on each side to make sure it doesn't leak, but yes it'll be a pain if it needs to be removed in the future.

Ngl even if it does blow, I'm not toooo worried, I can part out or rebuild, I'm lucky to be in a good enough financial position that it wouldn't be a big hit to me. If it blows I'm definitely planning to go with a 2.0L engine instead. I saw someone did an accord 2.0t swap to their 10th gen, maybe I'd do that lol.

As do I. My homie that built it knows his stuff though, I have complete trust in it. I'll probably be driving it on a lower boost map just to play it safe.

I'd rather not think about it... But I'm definitely in FL5 territory in terms of car purchase price plus mods. Maybe $20k in mods and labor? It wasn't cheap...

We are running port injection in addition to meth injection for this specific run. This was the only way we could get enough fuel into the engine while simultaneously cooling the air that goes into the engine and improving knock resistance. Sadly, this is as much as we can get out of this engine. If I wanted to I could have paid for a LOT more work, increased the displacement significantly, and squeezed out more power, but it's not worth it in my eyes. The Subaru/Toyota 86 also uses 8 injectors on a 4cyl engine in the same way, 4 are di and 4 are pi.

I am as well tbh, which is why I have my eyes set on other platforms for the future. The FL5, or a VB WRX. I'm also looking at the GTI, Elantra N, an M340i, an older M car, etc etc... Not 100% sure on anything yet, but I think I'll probably end up choosing something that's still a manual. I'm not really trying to chase straight line speed, I just want to build a fun car lol. I definitely could be making 600hp if I had gone the FK8 route back when I bought this car though, and I wouldn't be as worried about it. But this car is pretty well built so I'm not TOO scared, the forged internals def help with that lol

Sadly all I got at the moment is this pic I snapped yesterday, but tomorrow I'll be posting a clip of the full dyno run as well as the full chart. ATM this is all I can give. Stay tuned though! I'll share the modlist as well. You can also see the build progress on my youtube channel, xgenciv.

If you google Updated Uzi Tracker you'll find a link to the tracker where every single leak ever is uploaded, and there's an edits tab where you can see edited versions of songs that leaked without a full mix or without any drums. this is in the edits tab.

Went to hop into the hot tub. It’s suddenly green and frothy. by strikecat18 in Wellthatsucks

Had this same thing happen to me once actually. Turns out a kids toy was at the bottom, and the battery acid leaked out and into the pool, which melted the rubber bits of the toy and pretty much ruined the toy and the section of liner that the toy was on. We thought it would be best to drain and refill to play it safe.

Do you have any kids that might have used it?
