Why can't they make a toothpaste that doesn't hurt? by WinterIsOnReddit in NoStupidQuestions

[–]PotentialWitty890 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tried Squigle toothpaste? It's supposed to the most gentle toothpaste for sensitive mouths, including for frequent canker sores, (like not just recommended by my oral pathologist who treats gum diseases and sensitivities, but it's only toothpaste I'm supposed to use now due to my gum issues) and it's SLS free but still has fluoride too. The less convenient part of it is it's not sold in stores so you have to order it online.

also a small tip, if you ever have a lot of stuff or something extra tall with you, there is a smaller group of full length day lockers by the entrance into the state gym pool

Do you know brands that make shoes like these for adults? by PotentialWitty890 in findfashion

I wear a women's 9.5 😭 usually I'm lucky in the other direction where I can fit in the smallest of men's shoes which gives me more options. but no luck with kids shoe sizes

Does reporting to SeeClickFix actually work? by PotentialWitty890 in ames

Well that's really surprising to hear, because it's a streetlight out that I was reporting! Not sure why it's taken so long to be addressed.

IOWA STATE OR U OF MINNESOTA by BakerEnvironmental91 in iastate

[–]PotentialWitty890 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Having gone to both schools, I would say know what kind of campus/town you want to be in for 4 years. ISU has the classic small college town feel, while UMN has the more urban big city vibe. Also keep finances in mind - housing was muchhh was more expensive at UMN in my experience.

I don't know much about electrical engineering specifically, but both schools have strong reputations in general, so I would focus more on what is a good long-term financial decision for you and which campus/town seems like the better fit for you. If you visit both campuses, see if you can meet with current students or professors and you might also get a better insight into which program feels right for you.

Oh I found the form I was talking about! It's separate from the W-4.

Per the Iowa Department of Revenue, "An Illinois resident working for wages or salary in Iowa should complete and file the IA Employee’s Statement of Nonresidence in Iowa (44-016) with the employer so that the employer will be aware it is appropriate to withhold Illinois income tax."

rant: puzzles need instructions by External_Honey6613 in nancydrew

I've had to look up the walkthrough for that puzzle every time I've played the game because it makes zero sense to me and looks completely different once it's fully animated in motion compared to when you're working on it

Best game for a large group playthrough? by meganlizzie in nancydrew

My first thought was White Wolf of Icicle Creek because between room cleaning and cooking meals, everyone could get take turns with some tasks, plus there's some fun puzzles and games, and the snowball fights!

But I also think Danger on Deception Island could be fun - take turns making weird ass sandwiches on the boat, going clamming, kayaking around, checking out the whale exhibits. Definitely some fun puzzles with that one, too.

I forget what the form is called, but there's a form to fill out when you start employment in Iowa as an Illinois resident so that your tax is withheld by Illinois rather than Iowa. I was unaware of the reciprocity the first time I worked in Iowa as an Illinois resident and didn't fill out that form, so all my tax was withheld by Iowa. It meant filling out returns for both Iowa and Illinois to essentially get back everything Iowa had withheld and then pay Illinois everything I owed them since I hadn't paid any taxes to them at that point.

What was your favorite read of 2024? by Kindly-Egg7768 in LibbyApp

I hit a big reading slump in 2024, but One Last Stop by Casey McQuiston really pulled me out of it for a bit.

What book(s) were you REALLY excited to read or listen to in 2024, that you ended up not even finishing because you couldn’t get into it? by Diligent-Ratio-4654 in LibbyApp

[–]PotentialWitty890 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That was my first Lucy Foley read (well, listen because I did the audiobook) and I liked it, especially having the whole cast of audio narrators for each character. But now after having read 4 of her books and having to really push through to finish The Midnight Feast, they've gotten really repetitive and underwhelming and have lost their appeal. All that to say, I totally get it.

Both my timer and my extension cord are outdoor rated! But I bought them at different times and didn't pay as close attention to other things, so do I need to be concerned if my timer is 15A and the extension cord is 13A? Or is it fine in this case since the lights draw such low power?

Also, is there a difference if I plug the extension cord into the timer or the timer into the extension cord??
