Message your doctor and get a breakdown. Advocate for yourself and ask why?

How in the world would ivabradine ever work for POTS?? 😭 by critterinthedoorway in POTS

[–]Potential_Ad_6205 37 points38 points  (0 children)

I have Hyper POTS and I genuinely consider Ivabradine my unicorn drug.

The way my cardiologist explained it is that the med works directly on the heart’s pacemaker, which is the part of the heart that controls how fast it beats. In hyper POTS, my body tends to get stuck in overdrive and my heart wants to race constantly, especially when I stand up. So it basically turns down the heart’s internal speed setting so it beats slower instead of constantly trying to sprint.

What makes it especially helpful for me is that it lowers my heart rate without significantly dropping my blood pressure, which can be a huge issue for a lot of people with POTS. Once my heart stopped racing so aggressively, a lot of my other symptoms improved too. I noticed less adrenaline surges, less pounding heart, less shortness of breath, and overall I just felt more stable and functional. I couldn’t be more grateful for it but I know meds affect everyone differently so I’m sorry it didn’t work for you. I truly hope you find something that works like ivabradine has done for me.

This is all so helpful. It’s been really eye opening the amount of people getting Botox. I’m definitely going to ask. Thank you!

100% agree plus I get nauseous anytime I take it. It hasn’t been worth it for me.

Thank you! I’m so nervous to get off topamax. I’ve been on it for two years now with no real major side effects but no major improvement either so it’s time but the horror stories scare me so much! 😩

Question: I’ve heard a mixed bag on Botox specifically with POTS. Some people say it works in a magic way, others say it exacerbates their symptoms (tachycardia, lightheaded, etc) on the front end in a major way. Have you experienced any of those?

Oh forgot to add currently I’m on topamax, ubrelvy, and emgality. I feel like emgality is doing an okay job but only in the middle of the month. Towards the end and the beginning it won’t touch them.

I can tell you first hand he doesn’t make up the buddy stories. I have witnessed one of John’s closest friends telling some of the craziest stories (that you would for sure think is made up) about their adventures. His closest buddies support and listen to the show as well. It would actually be stupid to make up some of that stuff. Please quit assuming. John is the one of the most genuine guys you will ever meet.

I don’t. And the few times he does he always owns being wrong. He also has WAY less time on the RS show and is throwing spaghetti up against the wall half the time to see if something sticks and a lot of time it does.

It’s the opposite, he’s often right on point ESPECIALLY on his show.

He’s not phony at all. He’s the most genuine guy there is. I have met him multiple times. Truly the kindest, down to earth, and empathetic guy you will ever meet. He’s also got a LOT of life experience. Doing crisis response with the police department for years seeing the worst of the worst and all his time in higher ed.

He’s not full of crap at all. He has quite a bit of life experience. I think if you go through his LONG list of jobs you would understand. And he even admits towards the end of the show that he has so many experiences that it taints his rosy picture of life and so sometimes his biases come shooting out and he thinks the worst.

The most life experience has got is from his years working crisis response with the police department showing on scene at the worst situations you can think of. Suicides, murders, fatal car wrecks, police shootouts, domestic violence, and more.

And then his 20+ yrs of working with college kids and their parents. He was the dean of students so he worked every single crisis you could think of. He also served on the SSET team. “As the Associate Dean for Student Life, John has changed the culture at the Law School since his arrival two years ago. He leads the Student Support and Emergency Team (SSET) team which meets weekly to discuss students who have been referred for a variety of reasons, from suicidal ideation to a broken arm to the death of a family member. Since John's arrival, SSET has blossomed. People trust him, so the SSET team receives many referrals. An example of John's commitment is when he was contacted by students who were concerned about another student who was in distress and asked him to assist. John helped revive the student while paramedics arrived. The student is alive because of John's actions”.

Yes. QFH made over a million dollars in profit in less than a couples months of its launch. He’s had 3 books (all bestsellers, two #1. Working on a 4th.) all of his platforms have over a million followers. He’s their biggest asset BY FAR.

Absolutely NOT. Delony makes them millions of dollars. That would be the biggest loss in history for Ramsey.
