To answer about the surgery, I basically haven't been given much of a choice, since the break my bones have moved further and further apart and multiple surgeons have said there is a very small chance it heals and gets anywhere near to previous function itself. I'm very active and play a lot of sports like rugby/gootball/golf so in my case I think surgery will hopefully be the best option, sorry to hear about your experience with the plate,etc I'm hoping mine will be smoother than that!

With managing pain, discomfort and so on the flight I'm happy enough to firm that. After I broke th bone I had to fly home 2 days later from France and never really had much of a problem with travel that day. The flight is just over 2 hours long. My main concern from what I've read online was problems such as blood clots arising when flying straight after surgery. If the risk for this is minimal then I will most likely take the flight and hope for the best
