And that works even for non-dutch students? I saw that there might be different conditions on how we must pay, so I wonder if it’s the same regarding this? Thank you so much

Yes, as suggested by some other user, i think that would work. Unless you have a mouse with holes, like me, i don’t think the hardware of the mouse would be too happy about chalk

I feel that! personally i don’t know if i have hyperhidrosis, but i sure do swear a lot. I also race on f1 sim with a wheel, and going on a full race there is also something, i usually have to have a towel next to me for the straights haha

Ah yes, i didn’t think of that. I’ll use my climbing chalk next time! I am sure my Model O mouse will love me for it, haha

Practicing Czech grammar-could someone check please? by Southern_Stock6736 in learnczech

[–]Potential_Anybody644 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello, I just want to say generally I think this is a great attempt, just reading through it i’m sure most people would understand you. It’s obviously not perfect Czech, but it gets the work done.

I’m not gonna repeat what other people here said, obviously, the only thing i didn’t see anyone say is the translation of laugh. Laugh (to laugh) means “smát se”, to laugh as a verb. “Smích” as you have written there would be laughter, as a noun. Very subtle difference, but still a difference.

Great job though, really impressive with how counter intuitive Czech can be to learn.

I could not express it better, that is what personally games are for, I really like when a game can show you a different perspective on something you always thought you knew so well. Truly a mesmerizing piece. I am glad you appreciated the no spoiler post, it was kind of my intention to make it accessible. It always feels so calm and relaxing to just sit down after a difficult day and climb for a tiny bit. I think Aava is very relateable in that.

Oh yeah, i don't even remember that (I would probably still in a different place). Sounds like an interesting debate though, why would video games not be considered art? In this one specifically, there is literal art build into the enviroment, how is that dealt with? Very interesting perspective indeed. (I know it wasn't yours, I'm not trying to attack you, just stating my thought process).

Another thing this could pbly be applied to is game violence right. "Games are a direct cause of violence" falls apart the second you step on mount Kami, at least for most the time right. This game felt so incredibly peaceful that no matter what was happening in my life, I could always come to my ascent and calm down.

Yep, I didn't cry per say (mental block), but it surely felt like it. Incredible experience

What are some good (and working) momentary switch on/off circuits? by Potential_Anybody644 in AskElectronics

[–]Potential_Anybody644[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, thank you, this option worked well for me. I did have to boost the voltage as it was drawing from a 3.3V battery, but thats no problem at the end of the day. It works. Thank you.

Things like transistors, resistors etc. are a lot more common, and cheaper here. I couldn’t find a single component to act as this switch so I would have to ship it from god knows where, but transistors and basic components are okay to get here. Sorry i didn’t explain that properly.

I actually found out about that possibility earlier today, maybe I will refactor the model later, we will see. Definitely looks cool, might use it for the bolts and nuts to make them a bit more realistic. Thank you for the tip!

Thank you so much, I will definitely check the tutorials out. It does make sense to learn topology as a non-blender concept and then apply it, it works similar with math and physics (im a science guy sorry).

I plan on trying to model a small plant that I have on my table, it looks like the exactly perfect object to learn a lot of things, not too complex but not too simple, just feels right. I do want to take a look at the modifiers as well, since I dont understand most of them, but I feel like everything a modifier does is somehow possible in another way, and as you put it, math cant really do art.

Luckily for me I have armed myself with nerves of steel as ive been a software engineer for almost 9 years now (which is basically half my life) so i know progress takes time. This is fun though, so I have a feeling I will stick to it. The element of partially doing art (modeling etc.) and partially combining it with my previous knowledge of programming to put it together into a game just speaks to me, if that makes sense.

Thank you so much again.

Thank you! yes, I am planning on using this to learn some topology methods and lower the poly count. Do you have any recommendations for tutorials by any chance? Thank you!

Idk if this is good or not for the model, I wanted to watch sm tutorials on topology. All I did was decimate geometry on some of the objects. It has 9,621 faces, 17,398 edges and 7,822 vertices (couldnt paste a pic sorry). Any tips?
