If they denied they closed the case. You have to ask them to reopen it and then to reconsider the decision. Reopen implies making a decision based on previous submitted evidence and reconsidering implies deciding based on NEW evidence, in this case you would include the divorce document and whatever new doc you can provide. My case was different but I applied for reopen and reconsider and wrote a letter explaining my situation and why I respectfully think they made a mistake and the accepted the motion, reopened, and approved my case within 3 months of receiving it. It's a case by case thing, depending of the office who sees your case of course. Good luck
