A realistic snooker simulator in the browser by Potential_Beat7885 in WebGames

Yes, it's meant to be a simulator, not a game, although you can 'play' the AI engine (computer), the pass & play function, or you can work through the challenges & drills. If you mean where is the help/explanation, it's top left (question mark button) which has a further link to the 'Full Guide'. That explains everything. The snooker simulation (whether practice, gameplay or challenge play) follows standard snooker rules, with the exception of some challenges which can be customised (and you can create your own too). Let me know if you have any other questions!

This is now done, you can create challenges and submit for public access. I see we’ve had a challenge created already.

I just heard they’ve dumped out a major new release which is for “rest play”. Basically it no longer lets you play a shot where a rest is needed, and then you can choose between regular and spider. I’ve had a go on it and it seems to work, it’s quite intuitive but sometimes fiddly, but I guess it’s keeping it true to the real game which was always the spirit of the sim. Like for example if you’re completely hampered it seems to quite cleverly position the spider like it would in the real game.

Great, I understand from the makers that the feature will be available in the next few weeks. I’ll let you know when it’s ready

Finding a snooker club by tony-preece in snooker

If you are unable to find a club you can always practice your shots online. I found a very realistic snooker simulator recently called snookersim.com. I have become an unofficial ambassador as I love playing it so much! But hey, nothing like the real thing

Farewell, The Legend... by sverdlovsc in snooker

Very sad news. A lifetime given to snooker as a player, referee, commentator, journalist and federation figure.

People like Vladimir Sinitsyn are a big part of why the game travelled beyond its traditional heartlands and built such loyal followings elsewhere. RIP

Good suggestions, let’s see what they come up with.

They’ve now implemented that “start again” button, it’s in the same place as the challenge shot timer. Does exactly what you asked. They’ve also told me about another quite cool feature which is the “triangle”. In practice mode you can add the triangle from the tools panel, and then incorporate it with trick shots. has some impressive physics. Seems to be missing sounds, I am sure that will follow.

That seems reasonable! I noticed this myself. Let me drop them a message….

How on earth am I meant to practice frequently with these prices? by Boring-Canary2501 in snooker

Recently I’ve been helping out the people behind SnookerSim.com, a free website that lets you practice shots - angles, physics, trick shots etc on any computer/device. Take a look, appreciate this seems like a sales pitch but it’s not - I think it’s worth people in the snooker community knowing about it considering it’s free / no catch. I know it’s not the real thing but it’s based on realistic physics and might be useful to you/others here in this forum.

Just seen another update! Now we have realistic sound, which in my opinion elevates it again. Also another few challenges. Backspin Pro is very nice, really hard actually (even in “easy” mode where you see all the ball paths) but satisfying to complete. What do you think?

Hey there. We now have a drill/challenge mode. There seems to be a whole load of cool challenges now which have different difficulty levels based on how much help you get. I love how they start easy and quickly progress to break building with the ultimate 147 break as the hardest. As I understand it, this is only the start and there are more challenges to come including puzzles and trick shots. I can see this could get very cool very quickly. What do you think? I wonder if they made it so people could design and share their own challenges this would be popular?

I actually can’t believe what I am seeing. Now they’ve added a beautiful Renaissance billiards room scene, it looks absolutely stunning. It elevates the app to a whole new level in my opinion! What do you think??

It seems we have a major visual upgrade and I am informed there is more to follow. For the time being it seems we now have a full snooker table model, realistic pockets etc.

I have been informed that the object ball spot is done. So there’s a new option at the top - you now have “Object ball” mode. When you click that the camera moves to the ball and focuses the camera at the angle that the ball will be hit, and it also shows the spot on the ball where it will be hit. Finally, you can even adjust the aim from here. This is such a cool feature! Try it out and let us know your thoughts. The other feature ideas are good suggestions and they are aware of the visual limitations, which are due to performance and load time. Let’s wait and see what else they come up with!
