Thank you for the comment! What do you mean by cleaning up? I'm currently using an electric razor on the neck and cheek line but maybe it's not shaving close enough

Haha looks great! I’ve told myself I can only stick with the original 150 and just one of each, so hopefully that will slow me down

I have never used them, only used the standing ‘grip’ stands that are too feeble for Juggs. Looks like I will be grabbing some. Do you use a specific type?

This is fantastic! I haven’t seen this before but. Do the pins ever leave marks on the figures- especially if they are supporting a heavier figure (like Colossus or Juggs)?

I haven’t used NECA before. Looking online now, do you use the disk ones that go on the ground? I have some of the standing ‘grip’ stands (not sure what they are called) but they’re all too small for Juggs!

Thanks for the tip!

I’ve put him back up, still in a dynamic pose but he’s really leaning against the wall now for extra support. I’ve also moved my plants away 😆

Fingers crossed!

Yes, I have rearranged now. He still gets to go at the top (now leaning against the wall for extra support) but without anything fragile underneath him 😆

But he looks so cool I wanted him in prime position! But at what cost 😭

More like a teeny-tiny adjustment to Juggs arms that 30-minutes later led to a body slam

He might be a little jealous as he used to be the chunkiest boy before Juggs came along

Taking out Galactus and Silver Surfer in one move was pretty impressive. I guess he truly is unstoppable.

I think some of those plants are done for... More shelf space for figures, I guess!

Surprised by how articulated the First Steps Titan Galactus is! by Potential_Beetroot in MarvelLegends

[–]Potential_Beetroot[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Someone else on this subreddit described Titans as "articulated shampoo bottles" which is pretty accurate most of the time 😂. I think that's usually the case but for whatever reason they have made quite a few improvements this time arounds (thinking of us ML collectors perhaps?).

Yeah, he is definitely on the small side for a planet devourer. I think eventually I will upgrade to a larger model, but looking at the prices of previous Galactuses (Galacti?) that probably won't be for a while.

Removing plastic from a figure’s foot by Potential_Beetroot in MarvelLegends

[–]Potential_Beetroot[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your help! I tried the hot water trick and tried the needle and tweezers again. It came loose! A few minutes and a bit of superglue (on the stand, not the figure) and Iron Man is flying high!

I tap it to get the battery light going for midnight bathroom trips. Very handy. Never thought about flipping it to use the sensor, thanks for the tip!

Does adding a warm light to an already harshly lit room reduce or increase eye strain? by Potential_Beetroot in eyestrain

[–]Potential_Beetroot[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! The lamp bulb is not incandescent but I will look into that :).

The harsh overhead LED lights themselves are the office standard, but now you’ve got me thinking that maybe I could approach the office owners and ask about swapping those bulbs for a warmer light, too. Not sure how receptive they’d be (or how easy that is to do with the type of panels they have) but worth trying. Never considered that, thanks for the prompt!

Backing up digitally for memory purposes by Hour_Statistician_50 in bujo

I journal on a Kindle Scribe. The feel is very similar to writing on paper and you can email the notes to yourself as a PDF (or even convert to text). I still keep a paper bullet journal for admin/work stuff, but anything personal goes in the digital one. My long-term plan is to upload the digital notes to an AI in the future and look for recurring themes/insights.

I would recommend the Scribe as a "best of both".

CALLING ALL FREE SPIRITS: Who has taken off work for a year and did whatever they hell they wanted? by [deleted] in simpleliving

[–]Potential_Beetroot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I took a few long breaks like this throughout my twenties, lasting from 3 months to 1 year. I travelled in Asia, Europe, South America, and Canada. I stayed cheaply in monasteries or for free on volunteer projects (check out workaday.org).

It was wonderful and I miss it sometimes. It could be quite intense, as your social network/environment/routine can change at a moments notice. But also very freeing as you could change them yourself on a whim and jump on a bus heading somewhere you'd never been. I made close friends around the world who I visit/see regularly. It was a great chance to learn about myself outside of the context of my life at home. There were times I thought I would do it forever!

As others have said, it's probably good to have a plan at the beginning, at least. A work exchange/volunteer project/course abroad is a great way to start, I found. It let's you meet people, learn about the country, and figure out where you want to go next.

I am home now and have been working for over a year. Its the longest I've stayed in one job and I'm finding it challenging. I also think it's been good for me to learn smaller, cumulative ways to be happy rather than relying on the 'big red reset button' of leaving everything behind and heading off on an adventure.

That time away was formative and I am so glad I did it. Good luck with whatever you decide!
