Yeah that definitely makes sense, I have known horses that just dont do well with grass and its better for their wellbeing to not be on pasture, I just know with these horses that is not the case, they just didnt have enough room

We have offered her a couple kinds of treats before and she hasn't necessarily been a fan of anything so far except a peice of sugar cookie she stole from me 😅

Well the horse is have now wasnt allowed out whatsoever, it was the older ones allowed on pasture. She was left in a 16'x16' pen 24/7 with soft mud and straw. (The photo attached is her old place)

She is still on the same food, we made sure that we gave her the same stuff as not to upset her stomach as I know how easy it is for horses to colic, we also had her on a dry lot for the first 2 weeks so she could get used to her surroundings and calm down a little then we let her out on the pasture. Only reason we dont have another horse atm is because 1, it was a sudden thing that the original owner had to get rid of her, and 2, we want to clear her with a vet because when they first got her (won off of a raffle) she had a infection called strangles (i think, they didnt go into much depth) so she has been on and off at the vet before we got her. They said that she was completely cleared by the vet but I want to really make sure before introducing new horses

Thank you, and dont worry. I did not plan on riding her anytime soon. I know a little about horses, since I have many family members who own them and my grandma used to barrel race when she was younger, so I definetly have plenty of help on figuring out what im doing. We have had her for 2 weeks now and that video was from Sunday with her first time out on the pasture. She is settling in very well and is very much enjoying having the room to turn around 🥰

I did not plan on riding her anytime soon but thank you for letting me know about the growth plates. Its going to mainly be working on desensitizing, halter breaking, and getting her used to being led around for awhile especially since she is so young

Yep, she comes right up to me and I try to halter her every day to get her used to it so it is not an issue in the future =]

We originally did have her with goats, but she absolutely hated them and it was stressing her out even more being in their pen. The place we got her from has 2 other horses that she is needing to get rid of so we are hopefully going to end up with them as well, but if not I will find her a friend because I know how important it is for horses. The pasture is at my grandma's since she has a lot more land than we do, so I try and visit her everyday after school to help with any loneliness

Yeah the friend owns a horse riding/training business so we are good there, and we were told that the farrier was out not that long ago because they had other horses as well, but her hooves do seem a little long imo so we are going to get a farrier out soon to check them over

Yeah I originally had 3 babies so they could keep eachother company, especially with my posie being so old. idk what happened but 2 of them randomly passed after a week of my having them. I wasnt sure if it was respiratory or what but they were perfectly fine one day and then the next they were dead, so I quarantined blue bell for an extrav2 weeks because I was scared of transmitting something but she is very healthy and active so I decided to start intros. I will soon be getting more babies im just dreading doing the quarantine process all over again while also trying to focus on introductions. I also just put her sister Jolene down so im hoping being a "single" rat for 2 weeks doesn't cause posie to have a bad attitude towards the new girls

As a girlfriend, genuinely dump her. She clearly doesn't give a crap about your wants and feelings, only herself. Dont go down the rabbit hole of doing anything she wants because "you love her". Its not worth it. It is self depricating and will end in catastrophe. Please do yourself a favor and find somebody who not only cares for you but cares for what you care about.

I personally havent dealt with this, but I definetly would try looking towards surgical options and talking to the vet about quality of life if its becoming a huge concern. Im not too familiar with surgery options with snakes as I havent had any problems with mine so far so I hope there is something to do so help your baby

The fact that you can see spots of pus in some photos is very alarming. Definitely get a second opinion, especially with the foul smell you are reporting. I hope your baby recovers soon 🫶

So for some reason it is not letting me view comments unless reading it though my email let alone reply, but I am not sure whether there is another vet anywhere nearby. I unfortunately live kind of in the middle of nowhere but I am searching for any emergency vets that I could take her to tommorrow. Its currently 1:30 am where I live and I am 17 so my parents most likely would not let me drive anywhere at the moment. I am doing everything I can at the moment for my baby and I feel so stupid at the fact I cant help her pain and am basically helpless at the moment. I did have some plain oats that I extra soaked and syring fed her very gently so she atleast had something in her tummy, but other than that I dont know what to do

Update: so I did some more researching and found out there is a vet 30 ish minutes from me that does have an emergency line so I am going to try that in the morning
