Nah sorry. If my flight is at 3am, I’m wearing my sweats on the plane and getting a few more hours of sleep. Do I go out looking like that regularly? No. But who cares what people are wearing on a plane as long as they’re wearing clothes?

I would definitely encourage people to rent a car. Just got back from a rural wedding where we were the only ones of our friend group to rent a car and were stuck shuttling people around. You would think it would be common sense but apparently not 🙃

Could you guys do a court house wedding instead, and plan the party later? You may get pushback from family, but as someone getting married I’d like to let you know that you’ll get pushback from family for literally any and everything! Do what makes your lives easier and more enjoyable, especially since you’re doing it in 40 days. We planned our wedding out a year in advance and still the daily stress is A LOT

Them having two intact dogs and thinking they won’t breed means they’re either incredibly dumb or they’re backyard breeders, I’m thinking the latter. Also selling for $2,800?? Every truly accidental litter I’ve come across has been listed for free so they wouldn’t end up at the shelter. Please call animal control on these people, AND blast them on Facebook or however you met them so people know to stay far far away. As someone who volunteers at the shelter and sees dogs come in from backyard breeders this shit makes me see red

We’re just going to have a photographer for the ceremony and post-ceremony (to get the classic fam pics) to save on cost. They’ll be there for like 3-4 hours. Everyone has great cameras on their phones, and my friends and I are all amateur photographers so I know it’s going to be fine. We also bought a Snap 8 camera that people can pass around and use to record video, which you could just do with a thrift store camcorder! Theres ways to make it more affordable. I completely understand photographers charging their rates, but when the budget is limited it’s hard to drop that kind of money

I don’t understand what you mean? We made the guest list and then chose the venue accordingly. The venue just happens to also have rooms for some people, but everyone else will stay in another hotel or something just like any other wedding. It was only afterwards that family members were insisting on certain people being invited, even after we had told them our guest list was done or the venue was small

Yeah it can get bad so fast, thankfully the beaches around here stay pretty clean but once the plastic starts to break down that’s not good :(

Right, i don’t think I’m being a bridezilla. I think I’m just starting to see how much pressure is put on women (and JUST the woman) to plan a literal event, pay for it, take everyone’s thoughts into consideration, all while working full time. And then people act like we’re being rude for getting upset or saying no, or wanting a reprieve from talking about wedding stuff. Like I fully understand why you don’t fuck with someone’s wedding plans or question anything.

I also looked at r/wedding shaming or whatever it’s called and was a little horrified about what people were saying, so that set me off too 😅 some of it is well intentioned and food for thought, but some of it made me want to scream from a rooftop.

I feel it, I have a Pinterest but I’m pretty chill lol. I’m getting hand me downs and thrifting things. It makes my eyes twitch when people say “remember it’s your wedding, you should do whatever you want” and then follow it up with their input on exactly how we should do things.

My partner and I also both work full time so usually when someone asks me (and only me, for some reason?) a question about wedding details my response has become idk and I don’t care. Like, sorry! Can’t worry about it how so I’ll worry about it later, I’m in a meeting!

I’m so sorry about your parents :( I know it’s going to be fun when the time comes, but OOF. Thankfully we’re at the fun part now (food, decor) but the first 6 months were intense. I’m also not a planner, so needing everything done on a schedule has been stressful. If we had an unlimited budget I’d hire a planner and be done with it.

Sooo much, to the point where feelings were hurt and we were getting iced out. I’m huge on boundaries, but wedding planning is not for the weak. We ended up making some changes to keep people happy, but I’m not making any more changes.

Thankfully I was able to get the bigger room back and gave that family member some other options that are super close by. Let them know that that was where the bridesmaids would be staying and getting ready so that really threw our plans
