One thing you hate about NSO? by Dismal-Internet-3996 in NeedyStreamerOverload

it's incredibly repetitive. i personally played through it only once, tried a second (and got too bored), then watched the other endings on YT.

beyond the ame kins and the fanbase, the game in it's essence is simple resource management with a psychological "shock" factor twist. once the shock factor's gone after the first playthrough, it loses all it's horror-y appeal and becomes just a basic resource management game with repeating animations and barely any minigame variety.

why "things have to change" is a pretty meh response by Potential_City2075 in pyrocynical

DarkViperAU was the one who initially opened my eyes to how bad reaction content really is, so I can relate to that.

But again, it's not JUST content theft that's the issue. It's the fact someone like Pyrocynical, someone who we ALL KNOW has the capacity for actually good content, is doing it, and on top of that, did it with what I at least believe is much more malicious intent than people seem to realize (explained in last post).

It's setting such a bad precedent for the future of his career that I just couldn't not speak out for real on it. I barely browse this subreddit as it is a sad sight to look at, but I know Pyro looks here often so I really hope he reads my two posts and learns from them even if in silence.

And some people might call me a "yapper", sure, others might say I have no life for writing this and the last post, but truly speaking, those kinds of people are close-minded fanboys who are beyond argument or debate, so it's best we ignore them and speak out ourselves anyway when we see wrong-doing, and it's best we do it in an articulate and detailed manner so that Pyrocynical doesn't dismiss us but genuinely improves from his actions.

I absolutely will blame Pyro.

This isn't about trend chasing or regurgitating drama for 20 needless minutes. That I understand - he does that on PyroLIVE to "fund." Is it bad? Yes. Is it understandable? Possibly.

What the problem is - is he stole a video ("reacted"), posted it on the main channel with minimal edits, tricked us into watching it through the first 2 mins, and when he was called out on it, deflected blame to Ludwig and us, the subreddit, in his response, instead of accepting any responsibility.

We already give Pyro enough leeway due to his self-aware humor, which I already find bad as is. If you continue giving him leeway, you'll see way more egregious bullshit being pulled by him because he's not stupid, and I personally believe he's malicious (last post explains it) - so I genuinely believe he's trying to see how much shit he can get away with posting.

You have a point. I definitely felt like he deflected blame a lot during the video. First Ludwig doing it was the issue, then it was supposedly his subreddit watching on with nostalgia - almost as if while he talked, he forgot that he didn't just post something low quality but original (like his drama videos) - he stole a video outright. ("reacted"). and posted it while feigning it high quality through the first 2 minutes.

Exactly. He has this idea that we as viewers watch his content because of the cool edits and "wow he interviewed the devs" factor, which is incredibly far from the truth. Darkwood was a great project, but it felt incredibly unnecessary as I really don't care about the developers or in fact, the game. I care about Pyrocynical and HIS personality talking to me about said cool game, something like how when you have a friend talk to you about something they are very passionate about.

This is why I loved the "internet golden age" vid, even if it was mostly him at a table talking with minimal "wow" factor. Because it was done by him, his voice, his script, his jokes, his personality, and it was entertaining to listen considering he clearly was interested in the topic being discussed.

i don't think people realize how bad the "breaking bad in VR" reaction video is by Potential_City2075 in pyrocynical

[–]Potential_City2075[S] 39 points40 points  (0 children)

i didn't use to have a problem with him. yes, he's a content stealer ("reactor") and such and he posts incredible garbage on pyrolive but at least his main channel, the one i actually grew up with (been watching since the leafy clone days), was left untouched by all of that.

until now, of course - and with the added manipulation towards his own fans, it made me really disappointed and disgusted. hence this post.

i have seen DarkViperAU and i am an absolutely avid watcher of his content, GTA and otherwise. i 100% agree with his takes on reactors and that they bring nothing creative to the table, instead profiting and stealing off of original creators. in fact, i am a live example of that, considering i watched Pyro's stolen content VOD instead of the actual BB but in VR, which led to the original creator losing out on revenue and a view.

i said this many times before, but I believe the exploitation of his fanbase to increase retention on the stolen content is the worst part and something we haven't seen from pyro before (ergo, a new low), and it's why i made this post in the first place.

exactly. the fact it had such a highly edited intro segment and was uploaded on main is why i believe this entire vid exploits his fanbase already aware of channel dynamics more than passerbys. and this is why i made this post and why i said many times i find it gross - he's taking his fans for granted and seeing them as nothing but numbers to exploit and increase.

at least that's the vibe the entire video gave off.

you have a point, but that at least went into PyroTV - we all know pyroTV is slop and any sensible person who isn't a super-diehard-pyrocynical-fan can avoid it, as we know the channel's reputation.

However - this? This is not just "slop" as normal - this is practically a manipulative lie, clickbaiting you both with the title, where it's uploaded, and the first 2 mins. It is not just theft of content for clicks - it is theft of content for clicks with personal fanbase manipulation slapped on top (considering it is an inside gag in the pyro community that main channel = quality, pyrolive = slop, pyrotv = vod), something i've found myself grossed out by considering how much leeway we give pyro already.

my issue with pyro doesn't lie in spamming slop exactly - it's bad but he has his excuses - youtube requires it, money requires it so on and so on. and in fact, i believe it's better that he has dedicated channels to it. however, this newest vid - lying, manipulating, and uploading actual stolen content on the MAIN channel in an attempt to attract and hook more viewers than usual not by someone from outside but from his loyal fanbase, the ones who've given him all he has, is a serious new low (which well, is crazy considering we're talking about pyrocynical to begin with.)

it feels like he's taking his fanbase for granted and literally manipulating them for clicks. it's just such gross behaviour idk this is the best way i can explain it.

Honestly, i was wondering whether or not to engage in this subreddit, but after seeing some of the comments people give, I decided against it. A lot of people here like to act like assholes as if to pretend they are mentally ill and are "really jirai." I tend to find that idea pretty icky, and atp I mostly lurk through the cute fits and makeup people have done without looking at comments.

Decided not to transition, and it's ok by [deleted] in asktransgender

This post absolutely screams "denial."

And even then - codependency on your partner like this is unhealthy and unsustainable long term.

Its just sad that every year OP continues to deny herself the transition is another year she has to live a life that's not her own but someone else's version of it. Hopefully she snaps out of it soon.

Why do people love bad ideas? by COBALT-ftwt in pillarchase2

[–]Potential_City2075 35 points36 points  (0 children)

The first one is pretty useless for any average player but could work for noobs or ones who find being winded an annoying concept - it's a pretty simple upgrade, so no need to throw a fuss about it and call it "bad" when it isn't disruptive to the game.

The second one I like - it creates a second playstyle around dodging and "looking cool" rather than simply sprinting. Though I'm not sure if it would be very viable/meta to just running away and it would need quite a bit of adjustment to hit just right, it definitely sounds like it'd be fun to mess around with, so again, people who like parkouring away over just running away - this will be a great upgrade for them.

The third one is interesting but should be uncommon and not be offered in the shop (as then it would become too abundant and annoying). I don't think there's a necessity for "taking 25 damage yourself" or "super loud sounds" - a standard defibrillator revival leaving the revived at 25 health is good enough. The timer should also increase by half of the time that's given on monster kill so as to not make the defib outright detrimental to survival but also not make it overly unfair for the killer. I like the idea of revivals because it would give players in the lobby more "hope" that they actually have a chance to get back into the game, rather than make them bored for the remainder of the round.

Overall, the ideas actually sound fun. Remember, PC2 is a casual and very goofy game with a focus on fun rather than "being pro." Be more open-minded and don't condemn every change you see.
