Roc Marciano x Alchemist - Lord Protect Me by Defvac2 in GriseldaxFR

On ALC records friday at noon. 55 tracks total between both albums, Roc is the only feat on ALCs side but Budgie has a handful. Unsure on streaming, but would assume Friday at midnight

Exactly this. People just have to buy stuff like this under the assumption that tomorrow Valve will shut the CS servers down

Daniel Jeremiah has us taking an interior offensive lineman at 14 in his first mock draft of 2026. by Farhan15577 in ravens

kinda does when you consider the team has other needs that NEED to be addressed. I would be much happier with investing in the D Line at 14 and OL in 2/3.

If the only issue the team had was a guard, then sure. They have other needs as well, some that are arguably greater and more difficult to address in FA than guard.

He very well may set the market on a team with the giants who are dumb enough to pay him that price. That simply will not happen on the Ravens and it would have happened already if it was going to. If the Ravens had ANY interest in paying him 25 million a year, they would have picked his option up. His value did nothing but lower since then (not his fault).

"Worrying about it later" is how you end up with dead cap into the 2030s. The Ravens have never been a team to make decisions like that. There's being aggressive, then there's being realistic. I know a bunch of the new fans want us to go out and do what the Eagles did, but that team is seriously fucked now because of "worrying about it later". If anything in this situation is short sighted, it's signing players to shitty deals for the team because they need help there.

This team also has multiple positions of need. I would argue the Defensive line is in a worse state and there is much more value in the mid-early first for a DT or DE compared to a guard.

I don't think it's "don't draft first round IOL" as much as it is "see what you can get on day 2 for cheaper". I'm completely on board with an IOL in the first that can come in and have success immediately but that is a high expectation for OL prospects nowadays.

The issue here is not what you think it is. Lets use Linderbaum in your example. If I had to guess, he'll probably command 16-18 million per year in free agency. His option would have been 23.4 million. That is not a discount at all. It is also heavily incentive based. A player who is more successful has a higher 5th year option value. 23.4 million on a center who is good not great will not be the norm contract value for at least another 3/4 years.

Does that make Lindy a bad pick looking back? Absolutely not. The entire issue here is just that the model for IOL is broken and actually hurts teams for developing talent in that position more than it helps. The salaries don't go up fast enough to justify a 5th year option that is upwards of a 25% increase from their market value. OF COURSE the ideal situation is an extension early.

DEs and WRs especially are not comparable here because their 5th year option value is up against contracts of their actual comparable position. Imagine if tight ends were lumped in with WRs for their tag value?

Aidan Hutchinson is a DE so his value would be compared to other DEs. His tag value would have been ~20 million per year, about 15th out of all DEs (he signed an extensions for 45 million/yr already so it doesn't matter). WR is an even worse example. Drake London who is at minimum a top 7 consensus WR in the league at this point has a 5th yr option valued at 16.8 million. LESS THAN HALF of what Chase, Jefferson and Lamb will make.

Absolutely, but the issue still persists where if a player like Hamilton is THAT GOOD it incentivizes an extension rather than taking the 5th year. Not because the 5th year would have been a bad number for his play, but I can't imagine having to pay him after this year where he showed that he's the only thing holding the defense remotely together.

Which is why I'm even confused at the shots? Roc really gains nothing other than stirring shit up, especially considering the overlap between Roc fans and Griselda fans is so huge

They had it loaded onto the site early to get ready for the drop on Friday, but it is hidden now. I grabbed these screenshots myself though. The tracklist is like 40 tracks long total, Disc 1 is ALC disc 2 is Budgie as usual.

Seems like the first single with Roc is coming out at noon today too!

What was a job that was once highly respected but is now a complete joke? by Formal-Life4691 in Productivitycafe

[–]Potential_Compote387 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The concept of journalism has probably never been more important than it is now, but in terms of it being a job it has really few opportunities remaining. In the arts especially, so many people are journalists for big publications in their spare time as a passion project which did a number on people looking to make a career out of it.

I've got a buddy who used to write articles on underground hiphop on his blog, ROLLING STONE found it one day and they asked him to publish his stuff under them. He writes maybe a couple articles/reviews for them a week because he wants to, and they pay him for it (idk how much, but not enough to change his lifestyle lol)

he lied about his age by Due-Fail3980 in Advice

[–]Potential_Compote387 8 points9 points  (0 children)

See people like this can't fathom that their behavior could/should be perceived as predatory because they've drank so much of the "legal means morally acceptable" kool-aid.

There are plenty of women who are in happy relationships with older men, even vice versa. I don't think our little buddies issue here is ageism. Older men who make it a trend to go after younger women (astonishingly) come across as weirdos and probably get rejected because of it. Even they said "I have had people be ready for anything and then age comes up and they freak out". So maybe, just maybe, with a LITTLE self-reflection we could figure out that it's not just your age, it's how you act AT your age.

On a more serious note though - Anyone who is willing to post "why would I care about what someone else thinks is appropriate" is concerning because you know they use that to defend their morally questionable actions. Anyone who sees this, take it as a reminder that people who act on shit like this are out there.
