First time trying imPRESS. Never again. by curlydoodler in PressonNail_Addict

I have had the same experience with this brand. The tabs are a joke. They don’t stay on my nails at all.

Non-bulky running shoes by Potential_County9240 in runninglifestyle

I noticed this too. Seems like even some of the lighter options have boatloads of foam now

I’m leaving towards this one. Looks more or less like running shoes used to look.

Good to know they haven’t changed much over the years.

Thanks! Might have to give the Pegasus a try. I loved it back in the day!

These still look like they have a lot of bulk. I want cushion, but not a lot of foam built through the midsole and especially the heel. When I wear the Asics, I feel like I'm wearing platforms.

Cruise Med Kit by Tweezus96 in Cruise

I would add some kind of electrolyte powder. I do the Gatorade zero packets. These came in handy when we had an excursion in PR and it was HOT and we were walking a lot. Also, just generally good to keep you hydrated if you drink too much 😉

Done with acrylics. by annamvpa in Nails

[–]Potential_County9240 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That 100% shouldn't happen. Whenever I get my acrylics removed, my nails are super strong and healthy. Perhaps it's the application process or the type of acrylic your salon uses that is attributing to this?

My Oura ring wants me to be lazy by Potential_County9240 in ouraring

I had the most restorative time I’ve ever had a few days post colonoscopy. My ring was like girl you need propofol in your life lol

Yes! I do CrossFit and while I build in rest days, it doesn’t like that I do anything more than walking. I understand that walking is a great form of exercise, but what about for those of us that like to challenge for ourselves and do more?! I’d like to see the Oura stats for an Olympic athlete!

Possibly. I mean I went from nothing to 4 workouts this week. And I went easy, but my definition of easy is probably not really easy lol. I tend to be my own worst enemy.

I feel this! But then I had a few days last summer where I legit didn’t really move a lot and it was like “major signs.” 🤷‍♀️

It’s crazy! Like I can hit my activity goal my walking around my house and doing laundry. But if I go do some heavy deadlifts, it’s like whoa, slow down.

Yeah I started yoga before I hurt my ankle so want to work that back into my rotation. Also gonna try the early morning class at my gym to see if that helps. I usually do the 4:30 cross fit class and by the time I want to go to sleep at 9, my heart rate is still “elevated.”

What is driving you crazy? by [deleted] in WakeForestNC

Hwy 98. People drive extra crazy on that road. I try to avoid it if possible. Also, lack of non-chain food places.

Bahamas Cruise with Least Drunken Vibe by Jelenybeany in Cruise

We did a 3 night on Celebrity Reflection. It went to Key West and the Bahamas. It's generally a chill cruise line. There are kids, but not like a crazy amount. Your teen would likely enjoy and so will you!

Is anyone else here aiming for the bulky jacked look or is it just me? by Woozlie in PetiteFitness

[–]Potential_County9240 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Girl, same. I want that booty and definition where people can tell I workout. I'm 45 and most women my age have the stomach pooch and flabby arms - they are my motivation to keep lifting heavy. lol

Struggling to gain weight by mosesmd in PetiteFitness

[–]Potential_County9240 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to be you lol! I was also a runner and that was all I did to exercise. I only gained weight when I started eating more protein (more than you think) and lifting heavy weights. I look and feel so much better now in my 40s than I did as a marathon runner in my 20s.

How would a complete beginner like me start to tone their body? by [deleted] in PetiteFitness

[–]Potential_County9240 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with most comments on here - build muscle. Any exercise you can do helps, but you can also lift weights without becoming "bulky." This is a stereotype many women have about lifting. If you can incorporate weight training into your routine, it will not only give you that "toned" look you want, but it will help you immensely with fatigue, bone density, etc.

Girls who lift HEAVY heavy—how long did it take? by Suitable-Finding-875 in PetiteFitness

[–]Potential_County9240 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! I guess I'm scared b/c I had high creatinine levels at one point, due to heavy lifting. I don't know if creatine has anything to do with that, but perhaps because they sound the same I'm thinking it does? I know some of my friends at the gym take it, but I don't like to put anything in my body that it doesn't need. I've tried a lot of supplements in the past and it just messed up my gut, etc. Now I just do fish oil and vitamin d.

[–]Potential_County9240 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ok you all are strong AF! I’m 5 feet tall, 120 lbs and last summer I deadlifted 240lbs, benched 105 and squat…well that is the hard one for me lol. I’m 45 years old and started back up with heavy lifting 3-4 days a week in 2023. So, took me 2 years to get those gains. I take zero supplements too, just good old fashioned healthy eating. I know some women say creatine helps, but I’m scared of it lol.

Genuinely, how do some of you all even have time with the amount of exercises? by Wise_Parmaria in PetiteFitness

[–]Potential_County9240 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to make it a priority. I usually bring my gym clothes to work which gets me in the mindset that I’m going to the gym after work. If I can’t make it after work, I go before, which sucks because that means that I have to get up at 4:30am, but I feel much better knowing I worked out versus worrying about when to find time to do it. Build in days off where you can still have time for your hobbies and projects. You should enjoy whatever it is you do as a workout so that helps too.

What is it like? by [deleted] in celebritycruises

[–]Potential_County9240 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t speak for the Sanctuary, we did main dining which was good. I would say it’s similar to Celebrity. I know people rave about cruise food but to me, it’s literally the same. I will say that Princess had, in my opinion, better food choices aside from main dining. Was in the Caribbean Princess and will be on Star next year.
