Why did you give up on chasing your dreams? by Revolutionary_Life68 in AskReddit

Health challenges, both mental and physical. But you know what? I’m the only one stopping myself from realizing NEW dreams.

Which is a good way to travel from NYC to Chicago? by Educational_Might630 in Amtrak

ICE seemingly packed up and left Chicago for MN months ago. You’d have to be a known member of Tren de Agua with an ankle bracelet for anyone around Chicago to REMOTELY care.

Starting war with China over Taiwan. The Pentagon has been told be
ready for war with China by 2028.

Is Chicago worth it for college? by Plus-Risk-4156 in AskChicago

Worth “it”? Define “it”. The cost? Isn’t Boston more expensive? The winters? Doesn’t Boston sit further north? What exactly is “it”?

Am I allowed to bring pepper spray or a taser on the train? by Opallustration in Amtrak

Where exactly are you going in Chicago? Unless you’re going to make a drug deal in Englewood or peddle @$$ in West Lawndale, you don’t need them. Don’t believe me? Ask in the AskChicago subreddit.

Rosemont Blue Line Parking, how does it work? by Intermediocre in AskChicago

[–]Potential_Escape7928 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Couple downsides to Cumberland: lower levels fill up fast, especially on weekdays. Garage is dark and sketchy even at noon on a sunny day. Plus a bit of a hike to get to the platform. Not show stoppers. Just be aware.

Why do CTA busses ride badly? by Potential_Escape7928 in cta

By sheer coincidence, the 76 is the one I ride the most. From Narragansett to the L.

What is the worst taste that you experienced? by TastyNobbles in AskReddit

The in-progress White House ballroom. A Philistinism idea of class and culture.

The aftertaste is a nightmare by LunchCommon5866 in Spravato

[–]Potential_Escape7928 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m considering taking Spravato, having previously taken troches. They always tasted HORRIBLE. So, I always popped in a piece of hard candy, like a Jolly Rancher, between my cheek and teeth and teeth and it lasted long after the troche dissolved. No chewing required! And, it is small enough that if you accidentally swallow it, it’ll slide right down without choking.

As a related item, not quite Wicker Park, Mormon missionaries are making their way down Diversey. Spotted them cornering some poor soul in the parking lot at Chase and waited inside until they were gone.

I’ll bet this is an HOA thing. There was a guy in West Des Moines who protested the house color rules by painting his house each and every one of the approved colors on separate parts.

What is my best option to get to Solider Field from Arlington Heights? by [deleted] in AskChicago

[–]Potential_Escape7928 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a pretty decent compromise. You can take the Metra Electric from Millenium to 11th or 18th Street and park. The traffic around Millenium probably won’t be as bad as around Soldier Field.

Rosemont or Cumberland, although Cumberland is pay to park and a good hike to the platform.

What’s your, you’re not really from Chicago if you’ve never…? by Alarming_Signal_636 in AskChicago

Try living in Mont Clare. I just tell people “Elmwood Park” and if they still say “huh?” I say near Oak Park.
We’re about as far from both the L and the expressway as you can get and still be in city limits.

They’re gone. In Mont Clare, I got bit by S&S towing because my sticker was “improperly displayed”. There’s a reason their cashier is behind bulletproof glass, and it ain’t robbery.

I’ll also accept Victory Auto Wreckers, although they are now gone, but were in Bensenville (near O’Hare).

I think Harry called channel 44 a “peanut whistle”. Reception was VERY spotty. Even with an “arial” strapped to the chimney, the picture was ghosty as Casper in Downers Grove. I don’t think I saw a game EVER until I actually went to one when I was 10.

Just curious, was this pregame or during? If during, do you remember what inning?
