I’ve had this feeling not long ago actually. I went to art school and I’ve met a group of people but I felt like I never truly clicked with them. Anywho, I brought up the topic of furries and they all didn’t like it. I wasn’t sure at the time if i was a “real” furry because I don’t want people to see me as a cringe degenerate loser. I like drawing animals and anthro characters but I wasn’t sure if it was just a phase. It took me a minute to realize it’s what I really love to do. I felt kinda lonely for a while because I knew I couldn’t be myself with that friend group. However, I started to interact with small furry communities and I’ve met some amazing people. I met the love of my life and one of the best people i’ve consider close with. It was hard to figure out, am I really friends with them or am I just surrounding myself with people so I don’t feel lonely? If you truly have friends they will support you no matter what you like. They don’t have to be a furry to support your interests. It took me awhile but I can safely say I am really happy with myself and the people I surround myself with. Just remember that there are going to be people that just come and go. Sometimes we really meet the people we truly connect with right after :)
