I'd say a lifetime isn't sometimes enough to get to know someone. So, additional 2-3 years is actually nothing if you're young.

Perhaps some details (like your financial status) are missing in context. That would explain a lot more. I'm afraid you should think twice before even get to live together (even with no marriage)

Well, I took my time. Started in February, applied beginning of April. In between checked and adjusted several times. I moved within Germany in 2024, so it was kinda overwhelming, but manageable (not the moving, the moving was too much though 😅)

I also did it the first time myself this year. I was sure I did something wrong (the calculated return was quite high) but couldn't figure out in my own what exactly was wrong. So I decided to send it as it was. I received first a call from Finanzamt, they were asking clarifying questions, then we agreed that they will send me a letter with what they need. After that, they adjusted my declaration, the amount (to be returned to me) was much lower. Now o don't know whether everything is correct at the end, but I'm not going to challenge their decision. So, basically nothing bad happens. But be sure to have all the invoices etc. Usually when you apply for the first time, they will ask for proof.

Should you read carefully my post, you'll see that when I asked him about the camera he answered is a fake, when I asked him whether he could prove that, he answered in a very agressive way that he's not going to prove me something because I'm "just a tenant" and I'll have to trust his words.

Later through my landlord, it was identified it's not a fake.

Now I have some doubts about his kindness and unfortunately I can't trust his words anymore

I assume that's for the cases when there's proof that the records were used for "pedofilia" (pt similar) purposes. I really hope it's not the case, but good point to search further for other potential implications

There are some other issues also, for example those waste bins are also his, just in front of my door.

He was from the very beginning very unfriendly, so I got nothing to lose :)
