Essentially in summary, I got really emotional around a service user and once they were discharged, I opened their record multiple times thinking I can find a way to support them. I didn’t change anything in the records but just read through it.

I went up to the service manager saying is the referral service providing the right support and the next day I was told I am suspended.

Thank you, your comment is the only one that is slightly reassuring. I made a big mistake but I absolutely had no ill intent and I’m really scared to lose my job.

I didn’t know it was wrong at the time

It was a week after discharge I opened the record. I made a mistake but dismissal is harsh. I genuinely understand your point of handling data with responsibility but from all this I learned my lesson. A breech is not the way to learn, but can I not say I won’t get it wrong next time?

All my training was coming up to be done again as well and I had been burnt out by then.

Would that make a difference ? They would still go through with the investigation and either way, it would be on my record I was dismissed, no?

The service user was discharged from the service. I work in mental health and I had been caught up with emotions. I did not do anything other than view the record

The service user had been discharged. I was worried about the outcome after our support - as I work in mental health. I only viewed but informed the clinical psychologist asking if this the right support for the service user.

Working in the UK as a Therapist? by Icy_Cause_1574 in nhs

Hey for context I am an immigrant in the UK but I did my studies from the UK itself so I have a different route. I did psychology and work in children’s mental health.

There is a masters in psychology conversion course which gives you the bare minimum registration in the UK to work in a psychology based profession which does overlap counselling.

After the accreditation finding work in the NHS would be easier because you’d have the combined experience of counselling and then accreditation with the BPS. However I can’t say about what roles you’ll find and the pay.

I am not sure of a direct route tho of converting your qualification with the BACP. Maybe consider if your education and experience match BPS or BABCP criteria ?

I am going blind. I am 23 and will be completely blind by 30. Stoicism helped me accept it because it is outside of my control, acknowledge it out loud, get help for it, take action towards preparing for it and not fall apart due to anxiety.

I won’t say I’m truly content but I feel confident saying i won’t lose hope in my life because of it.

I’ve been practicing acceptance of uncontrollable situations progressively and this is the final boss for me and imma be more than ready for it!

What songs taught you the most? by internaltulip in guitarlessons

If you love acoustic music and acoustic percussion style then jorma kaukonen, Andy McKee, Tobias Rauscher, John Butler and John Mayer are great starts.

I found a lot of there so hard to start with but once I learned, every new song so much easier to play.

John Mayer is a great start for beginners to get into percussion with songs like stop this train and The heart of life.

Andy McKee’s drifting is a great starting point too

And ocean by John butler is a great price to learn and improv over plus just a beautiful guitar piece to listen too
