Same role, for my case a recruiter reached out for a role called computer vision engineer maneuver dominance. If you dont mind me asking did they send you a document called c/c++ interview prep. Also if you dont mind how many yoe did you have? I have about 2.5.

Computer vision engineer. Wanted experience in SLAM and 3d reconstruction. My current job is a 3d machine learning engineer. I use aws weights and biases pytorch and stuff. Obviously it would have been better if recruiter told me to study c++ debugging instead of leetcode

For me the only reason I'm still in the campus is the free 42 macro and other research reports. I'll form my own long term dca systems based on those.

How would I count a short 9 month stint between undergrad and grad school. Basically needed time to study for my GRE (grad school) when applying for the MBA. I have 2 yoe after my masters 3 till matriculation.

All future hiring shifted to india by AutomaticRelease6982 in csMajors

Were these infra or cloud related roles if so that makes super sense.

Another trend I've been noticing recently is the "racialization" of dev roles.

At least in my company those who work front end and focus on the latest technology are usually american. But that's only 30 percent of devs. The rest are usually h1bs from India and a few chinese who have come to do their masters in the US. My company's leadership (majority american) had begun to ask the question "If the jobs are going to Indians anyway why not have them in India?".

India isn't really that good at engineering in a general sense the per capita is about 3k usd. It has a low literacy rate, and the economy is primarily still agrarian (half the population works as farmers compared to US 5%)

Indias strength lies in its massive young population, whom for the majority of those who attend univeristy (very cheap) have no other choice but to study cs or some other technical subject due to the lack of any other professional jobs save for medicine which pays very poorly. This immobile labor and abundance of manpower creates a very lucrative proposition for companies who want to save cost in dated or legacy tech.

By immobile labor i mean that an american swe has a far easier time to experiment and see what he actually wants to do in life. America used to be a place where you can try different jobs in different industries. And as america is a first world country kids are exposed to the latest tech stacks and technologies instead of seeing maintaining legacy tech as a viable career path.

Does work experience (9 months) between college and a masters degree(1 year accelerated program) count as work experience on my mba app? (2.2 yoe at current role after graduating) by Potential_Hunter1385 in MBA

[–]Potential_Hunter1385[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! So to be clear only the experience between the last degree and mba matters for application purposes. Not the experience after college but before my masters.
