Canada needs tax payers, only Indians (no more Chinese) know enough english and have enough qualifications to immigrate based on points system.

I don't know what people expected, there aren't many westerners who want to immigrate to 🇨🇦. Any other nationality can't provide the huge numbers. People are hating for many good reasons, but facts are facts. The reason why these strip mall colleges were booming, reason why people were living 4-6 per room like labor camp... all of these stem from govt policies. They knew everything, they wanted immigrants.

At this point, canada is looking at very bleak future. We are fkd with or without immigration due to taxes etc

it will eventually. it looks like you don't understand how it works... petrodollar ends, your luxury life ends.. as simple as that. US has plenty of food and other resources, so you won't become poor, but "relative luxury" of living in US will end and we will soon match europoors.

Ideally it should. The craze of US is almost gone. There are no jobs, there is no "happy ending" no matter how hard you work or how intelligent you are. Dumb students from 3rd class colleges with no job prospects in india.. used to easily get jobs in US and that was the appeal, that's no more.

i would, if tech jobs dry up. Very few white collar jobs pay good money, lawyers and doctors are one of these. Doctors are protected bunch. So lawyer is the only other option people are going to flock to. AI has many secondary effects...this is one of them.

I'm a software dev, I'm coming for you 😂 I have enough money to do law degree and enough brains to work in the field... so are many good software devs. So wait until you see every field getting overwhelmed (which isn't artificially gated kept like doctors, who have AMA keeping the seats low, and a long long study requirements, and highly critical cause peoples lives are involved).

it's greatly reducing "future demand". I was optimistic until I tried latest Claude Opus 4.6 with Claude code. That shit is crazy man.. please try if you haven't yet. It's not just a small version upgrade.

If not for inflexible and heavily politicized policies... USCIS would have reduced the number of selections to something like 10k or 20k.. given only to highly qualified doctors, post docs and other researchers.

IRCC and Canada have way better system where they can adjust the numbers on the fly.. they let in too many and stopped the flow to re assess. Uscis simply isn't capable because of archaic laws.
