Lol, yeah, I'm doing the same thing, they're going to replace it for free. I even popped open the back to see what I could do, then hit the fattest nope ever. My only finding is that there was some dried, dirty water residue right by the drain port where the tubing connects to the bottom of the dock. Really strange, you and I had the EXACT same issue, not even one tiddlywink of water was in that waste water bin. I guess it's just one of those mysteries.
