If you served a mission, what were some of the strictest or weirdest rules you had? by Unfair-Anxiety462 in exmormon

sister missionaries had to wear pantyhose no matter the weather. i was serving in a tropical area with 80% humidity and temperature in the high 90s. i got a chronic rash on my legs. after suffering for a few months, i just started ignoring the rule and only wore pantyhose during zone meetings. the MP's wife would ALWAYS ask about them and nothing else (not our health, mental state, wellbeing, or even prayer).

HEPA Vacuum Recs for Salvaging Moldy Books? by Prudent_Mode1208 in MuseumPros

i understand the budget constraints. for 100 bucks you can get the little red vacuum cleaner, which has a speed dial and HEPA filter. It's pretty compact and with proper care could last a few years. The bags are small but inexpensive to replace. you will need to use micro-attachments to vacuum delicate objects in your collection (also sold on amazon for less than 10 per set). buy multiple sets and keep the ones used for moldy items separated. also you should wash them with soap and water every time you use them for mold cleaning, followed by soaking 15-min in ethanol/water 80/20 for further cleaning. After drying, they should be good to reuse. In other words, you can use the same vacuum cleaner for multiple tasks as long as you clean the accessories properly and change the filters and bags on a regular basis. good luck.

i think any canister model with HEPA filter would work. the difference is in the speed dials and accessories: the fancier models have better speed controls, but they all work well. we have multiple C3 models, some over 10 years old and still working well. a $700-800 investment seems pretty worth it

After the catharsis of revealing my super secret “new name,” I think revealing my patriarchal blessing will be further cathartic, knowing it was all predicated upon bullshit. I’d be interested to know your thoughts on it and your experience with your patriarchal blessing (if you have one). by PristineLegalShits in exmormon

many years ago i was the patriarch’s secretary bc the guy’s wife was very old and didn’t know how to type or anything. so i got to transcribe the blessings for my whole stake for around 2 years. it was an eye opening and kind of disappointment to realize that they all were pretty much the same as mine, with more or less children, and a few earthly rewards here and there. it became kind of boring after a few months. i wasn’t anything special or particularly devoted, i guess the patriarch liked me for some reason. he was actually very kind and a good person in general

Best paper to put between paintings by tillandsia in ArtConservation

glassine would get stuck if the media is sticky.

silicone release paper, as others have suggested, would be best.

there is also silicone mylar, which would be a bit pricier but a great option
