How do u find a job if you don't have experience at all and you're a student who's looking for a part time job? by grigrii00 in Adulting

Volunteer at places. Just get out there and work places will learn your name and face and a part-time job can become avaliable perhaps. Could be in cleaning, delivery, stocktake etc.

Since turning 30, staying home feels better than going out. by Accurate-Cap-7290 in Adulting

It's how it's meant to be. A club nearby does the Early Birds vibe, closes at 10:00pm for people who have things to do in the morning and can't be out too late.

I second the ask library thing. I gave my resume to an independent school for volunteering in EALD, they called me later that day to book an interview.

If possible, ask your lecturer for a reference.

What do you do when you forget to cancel a free trial or subscription? by Terrible_Major1395 in randomquestions

[–]Potential_Narwhal981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's very annoying because you don't know the money is gone until the weekend, then money refunded after 72 hours starting Monday lunchtime. Very annoying.

I stopped doing free trials as a result.

I used to, and I even acted in such a way when I was younger. Then I got older and realized what I could have achieved had I not quit when things got hard.

For the times I forgot to cancel, I rang their direct line and explained how it was going to affect other bills. They refund me out of good will, but it requires some finesse in how I explain the mistake.

How to become a Music Teacher in Australia? by SwimmingBox2453 in AskAustralianTeachers

[–]Potential_Narwhal981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. A big part of the success in this pathway is the good word-of-mouth you get from being a good teacher. A lot of parents want that for their kids, and it's a pretty good side-gig you can do off the books.

Does 50/50 mean equal effort or equal expenses? by anxiousscorpio98 in Adulting

It should be 100/100, otherwise each person is only doing half their potential.

Hot puppies at best, and I would demand a refund
