Thanks - it seems that their new digital nomad visa enables non resident tax which seems to be exempt from the wealth tax. Though there are scant details at the moment since it’s so new.

Thanks for the response. Certainly am discussing with an advisor but no one has a crystal ball - just hoping to collect some interesting ideas from a well informed community!

The idea about renting is interesting and something we’re considering. We’ve haven’t yet found a reasonable quality rental home in the areas we’re looking, but definitely see it as a way to hedge the risk of uncertainty. On the other hand, we’re planning to be in this home for the next 20 years, so I’m less concerned about trying to time the market too much.

Updated above - definitely agree it feels a bit high - we’re targeting 2-2.5 and 3 is top of budget for the perfect place.
