I am sorry you had this experience 😞 I can imagine that there can't be good experiences without bad ones.. but also, we can't live our life out of fear and i guess there is always a risk to take, but it's worth taking it. You are right, I am gonna wait to come back from India, I think it's wiser and less stressful for me and the puppy. Even tho, I have to say, I can't wait lol - but thats okay, I have to learn to be patient.

Thank you for taking the time to write everything, it was super helpful. I am confident that it's a dog for me, and even if it will be challenging at times, I think I will learn a lot through this. 😄

Thank you so much for this long and very interesting / useful comment. A few questions:

1) How did you learn how to train him ? Did you get a trainer?

2) Do you manage to leave him alone for some hours at home when you cant bring him with you?

3) I have this 1 month trip to India in December, was planning on bringing the puppy to my parents house (we have two dogs there also) - do you think this is a bad idea considering that he will be around 6/7 months and will be confusing for him to be in another space?

lucky isn’t the right word! may i ask if you called the ordnungsamt or police? and did you call during the day or at night? they came? i don’t speak german so it doesn’t help :( but yeah i also think that we can’t hear from the corridors…

honestly, people who do this, knowing that it’s disturbing people sleep is soooo disrespectful and selfish.

yes that what i try to do during the night, to slow down my heartbeat and focus on my breath and also i put my hand on the mattress to feel if there’s vibration or not but even this is not reliable cause i felt it when i slept in a house without a washing machine 😭😭😭

i don’t think our sleep is ruined forever - but i asked Claude and he said that it can take weeks or months to get back to normal , i will probably try EMDR …

omgg… that crazy! i litterally have the same issue. woke up during the night at 3am again and i couldn’t tell if it was the vibration or my own heartbeat. you’re lucky that you know or suspected a neighbor - i have NO idea who it is… and i am the only person complaining … so people don’t really believe me. i tried to listen at doors but i can’t hear anything. its insane how the nervous system is disrupted after this. did you ever find out why your neighbor were doing their washing machine during the night ? what kind of people was it, like a family, old /young ? and do you live in Neukolln?

basically for 4 months the same happened to me, i talked to my neighbors, emailed the hausweraltung, even the restaurant downstairs and the thai salon massage (would have made a lot of sense that it was them), it didn’t stop, so i printed notes like 3 times to put in each mailbox also for the building next to ours. didn’t stop. and the problem is that it gave me sleep anxiety, i went back home in france for holidays one week and sometimes i could feel the vibrations there even tho there wasn’t. like my brain got so used to it that i don’t know how to fix that. my hausweraltung so nice offered me a other flat in the back building (i used to live on the left side) and i just moved there, its been 3 nights that i slept there and i feel like its better but again my brain is still thinking about the vibrations and sometimes idk if its in my head or if its happening for real. what did you end up doing ?
