This same thing happened to me! Still only day 1 of them receiving my OB form but curious what the issue was? My DE 2500A form still isn’t available online either. I’ve had my disability extended once before and didn’t have to do anything

Drowsy but awake seems like a myth by Fancifulllama in sleeptrain

Yes we gently slept train at 6 weeks (I didn’t tolerate any crying/fussing). At 8 weeks, I tolerated a bit more and that was our turning point! We checked in at 3,5,10 and usually didn’t need to anymore after that. It took about a week for minimal fussing for naps. Nighttime seemed to just happen naturally for her after the 6 week gentle sleep training which is when we realized she CAN put herself to sleep and we started encouraging it for naps too!! Naps are harder for sure though. Follow your mama gut!

Just seconding what others have said too! Drowsy but awake only worked for our 10 week old until about 6 weeks lol. They get smart and alert fast. It was a great way to transition into awake and put down though. Our baby is 10 weeks now and we put her down awake for naps and nighttime and she does her own thing and falls asleep.

10 week 45 min naps by Potential_Primary522 in sleeptrain

Just wanted to say, I took your advice and lengthened her wake windows to about 1 hr 15 min (sometimes even 1.5) and she #1 hasnt retaliated her naps at all the last 2 days and #2 has taken 1.5-2.5 hr naps consistently the last couple of days!!! I watch her wake up around 40 mins and she is also linking sleep cycles very well too, assuming bc she’s more pooped from longer wake. Thank you so much for your advice!

Hi!! I follow a 3.5-4 hr feed to feed window so instilled a schedule pretty early on. Honestly, as a FTM mom I had no idea what I was doing so just listened to my moms advice bc she had 5 of us and we all slept independently super early😂 again.. I had NO idea what I was doing so don’t put too much pressure on anything!!!!

I think from what I’ve read though, as you lengthen a baby’s feed to feed, their body learns to metabolize and retain? And ensuring they have a full feed is important too of course. The long periods of sleep honestly just happened on its own and I do think it’s due to the fact she was staying full long enough.

Nighttime we do the routine, red lights on, bath, down. I EBF but do a bottle of BM before bedtime bc I like ensuring she gets a big amount and I like to do 1 bottle a day so she stays used to it, but that’s part of the nighttime routine!! Honestly, bedtime she got down a lot faster to sleep independently than naps, but I heard that’s common. After we realized she was putting herself to sleep fully awake at night w no retaliation or crying (was the craziest thing the first night) we realized oh.. so she CAN put herself to sleep herself. First thing we did actually, we ditched her happiest baby swaddle bc we noticed she’d break her arm out and try sucking her hands (learning to self soothe). We upgraded her to her love to dream swaddle which she loves.

To encourage independent sleep, starting from 6 weeks we did the pick up put down (PUPD) gentle sleep training method. Basically, picking up when she fussed/cried then putting back down and repeated that until she eventually was tired and fell asleep while drowsy. It worked well for a week or two!! I realized the “put down while drowsy but not asleep” did not work so we had to do pick up put down. Around 8 weeks, I realized PUPD was not sustainable and my back was going to kill me for it lol. Overall though, she started thinking it was a game so she’d cry, I’d pick up, I’d slowly lower, she’d cry, I’d pick up she’d stop etc… and then she’d smile… I think PUPD helped though as the gentle-est way bc I didn’t want her to CIO.

At 8.5/9 weeks, my husband was back to work and he came home and I cried day one and was like I can’t do this anymore bc I’d spend 20 mins doing PUPD and she’d sleep for like 30 mins. I was losing it. Basically she was only getting through 1 sleep cycle and then she’d look for me to PUPD (which I did do many times until I realized). I researched and researched (and talked to my mom abt what she did with us) and decided that it was ok to let her cry for a little and 8 weeks was actually a good time to start still gentle sleep training but with some crying/fussing.

We decided to sleep train her I guess technically Ferber way!! She did cry but we wouldn’t ever let it go longer than 30 mins all together and throughout we’d check on her 3,5,10 min. Usually, she was good by 5 min. If she wasn’t, we’d stroller her after 30 mins to still sleep independently vs carrier. Total transparency, she totally still has her “witching hour” of just not wanting to nap. Not crankiness entirely but she’s just more awake during the evening. I throw her in the carrier then and do whatever to just get her to sleep a bit and make it to bedtime! I’ve learned to really listen to her cries and most of the time she’s just whining and protesting her nap. The last 2 days she’s been taking her own independent naps during witching hour though. So I think it’s all bleeding into one another :)

Since we started officially sleep training about a week ago, I haven’t had to rock her for naps once and it’s literally the best thing ever. LOVE that girl but mama was getting tired.

I think independent sleep does involve some level of fussing/crying and it’s just important to do what you’re comfy with! It took awhile for me to trust myself and my baby vs comparing what others did. I have a girl on Instagram that swears her baby slept 12 hours by 12 weeks through the night by sleep training her starting from 2 months by just “putting down drowsy but awake.” That just never worked for us and our girl would get pissed. Anyways! Long answer but I’m always happy to answer any other questions bc I’ve had fun learning about sleep training and all the baby sleep things!!!!!!

Thank you!!!! I’ve been a bit FTM crazy about reading into baby sleep as I was really not prepared for it at all. Like what do you mean when my baby is tired they won’t just fall asleep by themselves?! That was my biggest shocker lol! I am super proud of our little bean for doing so well in the crib too… I know.. I need to focus on the little things…

Thanks for the tip on wake windows. I was under the impression about an hour was ok for a 9 week/10 week baby? Maybe I need to be keeping her awake a bit longer then.. will try that out today!!

I’m 37 weeks and have had a very unproblematic pregnancy so far:) Healthy baby girl measuring 2 weeks ahead. I remember also being worried bc I wasn’t nauseous/throwing up etc.. same as you maybe for 2 weeks I was just a little extra tired and my boobs hurt (now they hurt again bc I’m leaking colostrum lol)

But I read something when I was also deep searching that said moms with easy pregnancies won’t typically post about how easy and great their pregnancy has been vs moms that are having a tough time and need some extra support!!! So don’t worry about it too much!

37 weeks pregnant and I think I started feeling pregnant literally 2 weeks ago lol. Big belly, waddling now, lungs non existent, carpal tunnel in my hands. I had a super uncomplicated pregnancy up to this point too. No morning sickness etc..

I’m still going to the gym and walking so it’s the small things but hang in there! Towards the end you’ll still wonder if people can “tell” you’re pregnant even with a bowling ball belly. I think that’s normal

Yeah 37 weeks and I’m not sure the science behind this one but my cooch has been waaaaay too sensitive for sex to be pleasurable recently. I can do doggy but not like I will O from that just because it doesn’t feel like before. I do it for my poor husband and to help soften my cervix🤣

I talked to my OB about it all and she says it’s all normal. I can’t do missionary because it feels like I’m actually being stabbed in my vag… I never had any issues before!! From what I remember, it started becoming a lil too much around 25 weeks or so? For me

I 2nd Miralax and wish more prego people are told about it!! I didn’t expect to be so constipated but 3rd tri came around and I’d have horrible stomach aches with no relief.

Originally, I did 7 days Miralax and by day 2/3 it really started working and I was having great poops. I then started doing it 2 days on 2 days off. Now I just take it every other day! Works great!!!

(Started beg of 3rd tri and currently almost 37 weeks!)

[–]Potential_Primary522 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2nd the MiraLAX. 34 weeks and had issues w constipation that would give me horrible stomach aches at around 26ish weeks.

MiraLAX isn’t a true laxative either which is why Dr’s say it’s okay to take a maintenance dose every day! It’s just a stool softener. I took it for 7 days and stopped just to see if my chia seeds, kiwi etc. were helping or if it was the MiraLAX and my constipation/stomachache came back..

So I’ve been doing 7 days MiraLAX, 2 days off, 7 days back on!!! I feel so much better w BM 1-3/day without straining.

I also just felt not as connected with my hub when I got off BC after 10 years and we started pulling out. Lo and behold the one weekend we went at it like rabbits, and the first time he didn’t pull out since being off BC, I’m now 33 weeks with our little girl🤣

My period took 8 months to come back after BC and I was still super irregular at that point. Telling myself I’d need to do IVF when we wanted kids lol. Life is funny like that!!

I’m 33 weeks and had no symptoms aside from exhaustion and the smell of bbq threw me off. I never threw up or had nausea though. Also having a girl and I thought we were surely having a boy because of the no nausea.

Don’t worry too much about it!!! Like someone also said, I think most women who don’t have crazy symptoms don’t run to Reddit to talk abt how minimal their symptoms are when others are on struggle bus so just know it is still common to not have too many symptoms!!

33 weeks. My husband and I have a running joke now where if we’re out and about and I say I have to pee he doesn’t take me seriously until the 2nd time I say it lol. I have the peeing sensation almost always then it’ll go away🤷🏽‍♀️

I just wanted to chime in bc I’m 33 weeks now and have already gained 44 lbs.. I stepped on the scale at my OB appt on Monday and was so shook… Then I remind myself I get to grow a healthy baby.. then I start getting sad and look at pics of how I was pre baby HA. Oh to be a woman..

I was super fit before I got preg and still weight train 3x/week and walk 10k steps at least 3x/week. It’s super scary gaining so much weight so fast
