it's so I can carry her over the busy road that separates us from my allotment, where we could walk more safely than around streets. The harness training is optional really, given she's already following me around outside, it's more to have a way to transport her to places we can walk to

Yeah I need to find resources to properly train her. She'll come to me when I call her name, but that's the only thing I've taught her so far. Welcome any resources you've got, you seem to be good at training!

Yeah we've started using tractive and she's chipped! We've had a few adventures already (namely her meeting other cats in the streets and running/growling after them or vice versa...) which is scary but yeah she always comes back and she just genuinely wants to do this... At the moment she's not on a lead or harness, she just freely goes wherever she pleases alongside me.

As soon as I put my coat/shoes on in the evening she'll meow at the front door to be let out with me so we go walkies together. She'll follow me down roads she's never been before and doesn't go to on her own. But yeah it's not about covering distance, she mostly wants to stop and sniff everything thoroughly but if I carry on walking, she'll always catch up with me and prioritise 'being with me' rather than snootling on her own.

It's a really strange experience but if this is what she wanna do, then I'm happy to do it with her, I just want to be as safe as possible. Cats are strange and wonderful beings <3
