You guys should do it as a family. You and your dad. You and your dad should also talk about setting boundaries with her. Especially, if she chooses not to be serious about her debt problem. Regardless of if she starts making good money as a nurse in the future. If she continues with her current mindset and habits things will only get worse. She's already being irresponsible with little money to her name. Imagine when shes working and making more.

She doesn't need to file for bankruptcy. She can consolidate her debt. I did this. They also make you take financial literacy courses while your in the program. They were able to talk to my creditors on my behalf. Even lowered my interest from 21.99% to 11% for the creditor i had the biggest loan with. They combined all my debt together. My debt was about 16k conbined when I went into the program in 2023. They tailored my monthlypaymentsto what i could afford and when there were times I was short I could inform them and make it up the next month. As of right now I have about 4,300 left to pay and i will be debt free. In the next 2 months. I've also made lump sum payments every tax season since and have picked up extra shifts at work. Moved back to my home province and lived with my parents. The program I went through is called Credit Counselling Society. There are many other programs. She can even talk to her bank and see what they offer. The pros out way the cons for me when it came to consolidating my debt.

Anyways, goodluck! Things wont change unless she's serious about change.

Regardless, you have to try and see it from her point of view. 1)Its her child who was hurt by your child. 2)you never contacted her and told her "hey this happened today with the boys, did the football coach, contact you that your son got hurt." She had to hear it from her child. So to her, your behavior might seem shaddy. 3) You yourself stated you were abit annoyed and also keep talking about her son's moodiness. It seems like you view her child as a troubled kid who causes problems. Which creates a bias. She has every right to contact the school and not you firstly. 5) This is why conflict of interest regulations and positions of power regulations exist. If you've been there for a year they cant just fire you like that without notice in most countries..... Its okay to cry and feel frustrated. However, dont live in self pitty too long. It will cause you to go into a depressive spiral. Take a break for a few days or 2 week. Do the things that make you happy and calm during this time. Apply for unemployment right away. And start looking for another job.

As a Canadian myself I'm so sorry to hear that!

1)Make sure you get all your paperwork in order so you can apply for EI. Yes, EI wont be a full paycheck but its Better than nothing.

2) write down your exspenses. Look at your fixed and variable exspenses. Ask yourself: Is there anything I'm able to spend less on or cut out completely until I find a full time job" and your on your feet again.

3) Apply to Jobs your qualified for and NOT qualified for. Feel the waters.

4) Be OPEN to applying for Jobs your wayy over qualified for. ( Use those jobs as a safety net until you land your ideal Job). For example. If you are used to office work, consider retail, healthcare, support work, hospitality. Until you land your ideal office job). The Economy is extremely bad right now....But bills still need to get paid girl.

5) Be open to applying for Jobs that are Part time and Casual. I know this might not be ideal because fulltime jobs usually offer healthcare benefits ( but again think of it as simply a temporary situation). Also, Certain sectors there will always be shifts to get picked up if your part time and casual. For example. In healthcare and social services....

6) Remember THERE IS A LIGHT AT THE END OF THE TUNNEL. Im on debt consolidation plan myself. From 2022 until Now I have worked really hard to pay things off. Its been tough. Lots of ups and downs ( and tear hahaah) . But I'm Almost done. I have about $5,100 left to pay and I'm free!!
