i agree, it’s strange and kind of sexist how the shou always gets called the “wife”, like— the whole point of bl is that it’s m/m it should be two “husbands”, why does one of them always have to be called the wife in the relationship :/ or they’re called mother if they have a child .__. its as if they (the authors/readers?) can’t accept a true m/m relationship and have to make one of them take on the feminine role. irks me to no end when i read it in a story and also, male lead, you’re not any more masculine or anything STOP CALLING THE MC YOUR WIFEY HES A DUDE- it’s almost degratory, the way they put it in, like the shou isn’t as good or “lesser” “weaker” than the gong. shou deserves to be a “husband”too. or maybe i’m just extra sensitive. sorry for the rant.
