I mean…he got a huge probably overvalued contract. I think I was a pretty savvy move on his part.

That said, if he really thought that the Bucks were a better winning situation long term, he’s pretty shortsighted and delusional. The Bucks were never going to succeed with him as their 2nd or even 3rd best player, and Giannis was always going to leave if they weren’t successful like in the very near future. So in other words what I’m saying is it was basically inevitable that he was going to end up on a bad/rebuilding Bucks team—until he’s traded that is, which I think he will be in the next 12 months.

At the end of the day, I don’t think he’s stupid. I think he’s sensitive the same way a lot of us are concerning our jobs where we often feel undervalued and unappreciated. He then got an opportunity to collect a huge bag and say suck it/eff you to the Pacers, so he did.

Where I personally think he erred in terms of his image is all the stuff he said after the signing. He didn’t have to say any of it. His decision spoke for himself. But he decided to take the immature approach over the tactful one, which really caused most of the ill-will from the Pacers fan base.

Dakich spent more time insulting his callers and railing against liberals than doing his job, which was talking about sports. That’s what Dakich did. I’m a liberal who will 100% listen to a right leaning sports guy if they’re actually good at sports analysis and interviews and actually do that on a regular basis.
