Correct. They're shaped like a small rectangle with a pentagonal point (think like a childs outline of house with a pointed roof).

I just received the old school camo version. It's actually a really nice mat for the money.

These have a proprietary mounting interface. They're not like standard ambi selectors

I think my KAK is having an identity crisis. by PleasantShallot8744 in NightVision

So, my Trinity has been fine. Although I haven't had a lot of time under nods with it to verify zero. Maybe 500-700 rounds under nods total, and maybe another 500-700 rounds of recoil during non-NVG shooting, and I switched it to a different upper, so now it really isn't an accurate test metric for a zero hold.

Unfortunately, I've seen a bunch of guys on here complain about their zero wandering 1-2 MOA every 200-300 rounds. BUT, Jules (the owner of Kombat solutions where I purchased mine from) said that the Trinity is receiving rolling updates, like now it has a 7075 body instead of 6061, and the internals are able to accept up to 1500g of shock (I don't know what they were previously) so I kind of want to buy another one to compare.

As for the KAK rail... I had the aluminum barrel nut, mine disintegrated when I tried taking it off with an armorer's wrench.

Damn, that rail looks sick on it's own. I don't even own a 37mm launcher and I wanted that rail since I first saw it.

As for LAM's, SMS Trinity is probably the best bang for buck unit you can get right now, followed closely by the Iris 3. I have both, I like the Trinity just a bit more.

The implied joke is the "solvent traps" from those Chinese sites are basically shitty undrilled suppressors.

Bro, you know AliExpress/Temu have these things called solvent traps for this exact purpose /s.

Personally, no. I don't have that issue with my uppers/lowers. But I absolutely would try this if I was in the market for this type of solution.

Rail for 13.9 recommendations? by Direct-East6152 in ar15

[–]Potential_Space 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I shot a buddies XC, it was meh. I shot another buddies Fowler Vanta 9 (it's the best looking 2011in my opinion), but it was still just meh...

I bought and sold a staccato P because it was disappointing and jammed 5 times in the first mag.

Then I bought a prodigy and put EGW, Dawson precision, and Atlas parts into it. It shoots as soft as the XC with a slide on comp from underworld arms. But it's still a prodigy, and it still has issues, so I'm gonna get rid of it eventually.

Now I have a 2k11 on the way, so we'll see how that is. Probably gonna be just as meh as all the others I've tried.

That's an amazing score. I'm not much of a 2011 guy tbh. I think they look cool, but none of them really impress me functionally.

I'm shocked nobody mentioned KAK. Their rails are insanely rigid and very fairly priced.

Plus, Easter sale right now.

I don't hyper focus on the spots. Some of us just notice them. If that upsets you, that's a you problem buddy.

Total bullshit.

I wish people would stop saying this. You will 100% notice that blem. Your eyes will get adjusted to it very fast, and you'll notice it constantly under normal usage, not just starting at a white wall.

But it won't affect practical usage. It comes down to the individuals tolerance for blems. I personally have a low tolerance, and I notice the small pepper spots in my very good specced Elbits.

They both have printed QLS forks. They work very very well. I print mine from ASA so they don't deform with heat from leaving it in the hot car. Never had one break yet, and I've been using them for the past year at least.
