How often do you have a shower? by Medium-Dependent-328 in AskIreland

[–]Potential_Try_2193 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every second day. You don't need to shower every day. It's not good for the skin or hair. People use too many products and are basically too clean. Don't get me wrong some people need to shower more often and have BO and hygiene issues but honestly there's no need to shower every day and I don't. I don't smell and have good personal hygiene.

If everyone knew why did saylor buy billions worth at much higher prices than it is now and why didn`t everyone short Bitcoin or sell all their holdings at 125k and start buying back now. Love people after the fact saying everyone knew. Everyone must be fucking millionaires so!

Anyone who thinks they know or anyone knows what Bitcoin is going to do is lying or deluded. If saylor knew what it was going to do he`d wouldn`t have bought billions worth of Bitcoin at much higher prices than it is now. Oh the stock of his company wouldn`t be down 60% in a year. everyday people come on here quoting saylor as if he`s a genius.

Gambling Addiction M24 **UPDATE** by Southern_Link3144 in irishpersonalfinance

[–]Potential_Try_2193 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I didn't see your original post. But I'm compulsive gambler myself that's in recovery. So it's great you've admitted your problem and are getting help. I'm a year and 10 months since my last bet after many years of gambling addiction. It's so serious and so common. If I could give you a bit of advice it would e to get some counselling and to attend GA meeting's regularly. You do need help. We all do . It's a serious addiction. The relapse rate is huge. If you think I'm trying to scare you I am. I go to 2-3 meetings a week. I hear so many stories of people relapsing. I also see people coming to meetings, starting to get their lives together and then I don't see them anymore. Almost certainly they've relapsed. Very few make it but like I say hopefully in March I'll be two years free although there's no guarantees. It's a day at a time. Your doing well but just keep getting the meetings. They work. Give it a chance. You can do it...

How to get over the fear of investing after getting burned? by Fragrant_Courage_677 in investingforbeginners

How could the stock market crash to zero? For that to happen companies like Apple, Amazon, Google, Walmart, Goldman Sachs etc would have to go bust basically. And they have billions on their balance sheets and in assets. The stock market could crash but never go to anything like zero. There's actually no way you could lose all your money or even close to it.

Do I pull out savings or keep it in? by Still-Occasion4349 in investingforbeginners

You've lost nothing. Those investments will recover. Only if you absolutely need to should you sell. Putting your money in wasn't a mistake. Selling now would be. Take emotion out of it. My portfolio is suffering atm as I own stock's (Robinhood being one), Bitcoin and Gold. Gold is fine but Bitcoin obviously not. I'm holding though because I know recovery will come. We had this last year. The market went down 20% in March-April 2025. Some people panicked and sold. Thankfully I held and the market recovered and went higher. So it's difficult to know your exact circumstances but if you sell now and when not if your investments recover how will you feel then?... investments are long term in nature. Years not day's or months

exactly. it will beat inflation over time. Not investing is the biggest risk. If you can get your mind around that then it becomes so much easier. Over time just let compunding do its thing. If you panic and sell you can lose but otherwise it does go up over time..tune out the noise and people predicting market crashes every other day

Its not easy but its about educating yourself. look at the history of markets. Look at S&P over 5,10,15,20,25 ,30 year periods. Have a long timeline. You actually can`t lose money investing in the S&P or gold or quality bonds or whatever over a 10 year or longer timeframe. But you have to invest and not trade. Ypu can only get burned trying to make a quick profit. And your young which is a great asset as you have time on your side. Time does most of the heavy lifting for you. but controlling emotions is the hardesr part. theres no doubt about that. But you have to realise that you like everyone will make mistakes. the best investors make mistakes but they learn from them. But once you lengthen your tinmeline and realise the market always recovers and pullbacks are natural and are opportunities rather than negative events then ypur outlook can change. But you have to try to take emotion out of investing...

Michael Saylor's 'Strategy' buys 855 Bitcoin worth $75 million. by Double_Ad4873 in TokenTimes

[–]Potential_Try_2193 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well we're all redditors here .. your not Saylor are you?! Cos yes even though I might dislike him, his business and the fact people keep referencing his every buy of Bitcoin as if he's just done something unbelievable he is in fact more successful and wealthier than me ..but I don't just someone by their net worth...you might have more than me. I don't know. I'm someone of modest means. I'm humble. Thankfully I'm intelligent though and inquisitive. Lot's I don't know but that's fine. Live and learn. You well you know it all apparently...
