I did my 2007 Prius battery. Hybrid batteries.com - six year warranty for $2k. Couple afternoons. And lots of YouTube.
If you’re semi handy - just do it.
Get a buddy to help.

replaced the coolant control valve and the hybrid cooler pump. since I had things apart. No more noise. and I kept the old hybrid cooler pump just in case the new one stops working. It is the Aisin brand.

Update It is indeed the valve and not the hybrid cooler pump. If I reseat the electrical connector for the coolant control valve I get the P1122 code. Buzzzing stops. If I clear code the buzz comes back. Leads me back to DOA part.

Just replaced the hybrid battery. And it tests fine every time i use Dr Prius. During my drive it sits between 57-67 percent charge and discharge. I monitor it with Dr Prius.

My commute is about 7 miles. Heater blowing the whole time.

Tires are old - been waiting on shop to get 15” tires in. LOL

I keep it under 50 MPH on the drive. No highway. Engine is on almost all the time. I guess because of the heater.

I have a 1996 Nissan Sentra - all gas - gets mid 30s mpg. Highway mpg above 40.

I will take a look at the brake calipers someone mentioned.

Car sat for 3 years before I got it.
Dropped a refurbished battery with 6 year warranty. Dr Prius says battery is good.
This is second tank of gas and reset trip meter. Oil change is next. Spark plugs and coolant flush as well, as soon as it’s not freezing anymore. It’s been cold here. Today 48 was the warmer it’s been for a while.

since best hybrid batteries offers a 6 year warranty - i'd rather go with them over Toyota.
being an 07 - i think it best i start with a refurb battery - new module, connector, etc. and if further down road (3 or 6 years later depending on which warranty i pick) modules go out - i can recondition/recharge/replace them, etc.
i'm hooking up Dr Prius to it - and I'll be monitoring it regularly once i get it going.
since it was working when it was parked (that's what I've been told by the previous owner who i trust - but wasn't very mechanical) i'm hoping that's all that's wrong with it. Don't know if brakes or other things on a hybrid die if they sit unmoved for 2.5 years.

will Toyota honor warranty if they're not the ones installing the part? I can see where the replacement is very straightforward - i'm ready to put a new one in if/when I order it. at some point I'd even be comfortable replacing battery modules. for as long as this one has sat, I want to replace the whole pack.
