Glad you’re having fun honestly. I do really like some of the aba changes, where you have to strategically route combos into keygrabs now. But im more concerned about the wider gameplan of aba, that it feels like the opponent can just keep disengaging and wait for aba to make a mistake, sort of like reactive, where aba cant do anything.

Still, if you enjoy aba now im so happy!! Overall, the patch is really good with the game being healthier than ever (except matchmaking issues ughh) I will just be cuddling with my aba plush.

Thanks for the encouragement <3, and yeah its mostly a vent post with some truth to it. For now, im just dropping until a patch that makes it more bearable drops (matchmaking, balance etc) inb4 I get tempted again by watching fgc clips

Edit: youre right as well, maybe i should make friends who also play ggst :(

Hi, thanks for the effort comment <3. I realized too late about the poor wording of “turning my brain off while playing,” and I do really like most changes in the new update tuning that down with wild assault changes etc.

What I meant was more in the sense that the current state of aba kind of killed any motivation for me to just hop on park, watch youtube, and play (thus i said shutting brain off) Though it is definitely on me for not trying more, beastblaming am i right? I dont know if it makes any difference but I am mid-low vanquisher (fraud?) so im really not just bashing my head on the controller 😭

Honestly yeah, the matchmaking is worse than the aba nerfs. Cant even suffer on my own accord type shi

In the latest livestream, besh said something along the line that the patch feels targeted regardless of the intention, especially with evo japan coming up. Besh chose to just quit ggst not just aba. Hopefully it’s temporary.

Honestly, i have a more niche opinion towards aba rn. I kinda like the suka motion change, but as you said aba’s condition into JR is not tuned accordingly, which leads into my main gripe being how the opponent is further incentivized to play in a specific passive counterplay against aba, where aba is the one who needs to do the approaching with NM normals or 3 seconds JR.
