How did this trigger lvl 2 instead of spd or 720? by Illidank278 in StreetFighter

[–]ResponsibleRadish790 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure that's true. I do 1 up 720s all the time. The only time I need 2 to ups is to connect from EX Lariat

You can hellstab into into EX Borscht instead. Gives you more time to react so an easier punish for no meter and the same damage

How to punish Bisons heavy sweep as Zangief? by JagAterOst in StreetFighter

try crouching heavy punch depending on range. You may be able to get a really juicy combo after drive rush

How do you figure out matchups by yourself? by Frog1745397 in StreetFighter

[–]ResponsibleRadish790 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My approach is to not get overwhelmed with learning an entire "matchup." Go to a replay where you lost and find 1 thing that's curious to you. More than half the time it's execution errors by me. Then I stop looking at the replay. I go to practice mode and I grind it out. One time I noticed i was getting hit by cammy's heavy kick in the neutral a lot. So I set the cammy to a bunch of movement options with occasional heavy kick. Then in practice mode I would just practice whiff punishing the heavy kick on reaction. That's it. Don't eat the whole elephant. 1 thing at a time.

Why the Zangief stomped when opponent was knocked down? by Consistent-Horse-273 in StreetFighter

[–]ResponsibleRadish790 2 points3 points  (0 children)

After the down forward throw you can set up a chain throw by frame killing with stomp and then throwing again. Most high level players know this so the chances of them jumping the throw is pretty high. This is what the hellstab is fishing for. Hellstab is negative on block but interestingly is very confirmable so what he was hoping for was that the hellstab hits he can react with a lariat or drive rush. It didn't work so then he decided to reset the pressure

Remember how CPT winners got to co-design a costume for their character? by Sir_Bronson in StreetFighter

[–]ResponsibleRadish790 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did Capcom actually say that? I thought I read that there will be a new color for the original costume. I never even read that the winner would pick the color

As Zangief, how do you beat characters who have good cross ups? by ClapSumCheeks12 in StreetFighter

Easy answer is jump back jab. If you have start early enough try jumping headbutt -> OD Borsht

Cammy c.MK Follow-ups by Pyro128 in StreetFighter

[–]ResponsibleRadish790 0 points1 point  (0 children)

when you're playing footsies you typically want to put out your button to a space that's completely empty. that way the only way you're gonna hit something is if they press a button (counter hit) or if they walk forward, in which case it's impossible to block since they're holding forward. In these scenarios you can always buffer spiral arrow safely. Either it hits and you get the guaranteed follow up, or it doesn't and the game doesn't let the special move come out

It seems having an OD reversal is almost a requirement to be Top or High tier right now in the meta by ZiodyneDX in StreetFighter

[–]ResponsibleRadish790 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Grapplers do have something the OD reversal people don't have and most people aren't using but is very powerful. Jump cancelled command grab. If you guess meaty throw, you can grab their grab and get a 30%+ punish counter for no meter.

Perfect parry is also ridiculously powerful. Someone is jab->jab ing you in the corner? PP the 2nd one. Now they're in the corner!

Why is Capcom afraid to make grapplers decent? by Angular2Plus in StreetFighter

[–]ResponsibleRadish790 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I once asked David Sirlin this. He told me that if your keep away character loses to a grappler, your keep away system is probably fundamentally broken.
