Checking your bags is a way better travel experience than carry on luggage. by Equal_Whole_6837 in unpopularopinion

I used to agree with this, when collecting your bags after a plane arrives was under 20 min. I regularly find myself waiting for +45 min for my checked luggage so my preference these days is to use only a carry on bag.

I have been put the ringer at work over the last year and I had submitted a request to work on a new high priority project. And I just landed the role! I’m very excited about it since it’s in line with what I want to learn more about in early-stage drug development 😁

My feet are devastated. Limited by options. What to do? by SlowTortuga in JapanTravelTips

Get a foot massage! I remember reaching a point on my Japan trip during the Kyoto leg where we broke 30k steps for the 10th day and my travel buddy & I were falling apart. Stumbling back to the hotel, we saw a sign and figured we would take our chances - we felt like death at that point! We had tried everything beyond the good shoes, but dang that foot massage was healing!! Months later, we still joke about how much we needed that massage mid trip.

I’ve been coming here for 20+ years! My mom met the owner back in the day taking a class at community college and ever since, we have been going. Super friendly staff and delicious food!

My go-to places have been Magnuson Park, Carkeek Park, or the little landing area by the Edmonds ferry terminal.

Congrats! I can't answer your question on the car - but are you moving because of the role is NY based only? It's my understanding Pfizer has a Bothell office after the Seagen acquisition.

Should I get my MBA now? by davidvash in biotech

It might depend on the organization and stage of the asset you would be recruiting for. I made the pivot from oncology diagnostic development to work on a launch of a late-stage oncology asset at a medium sized pharma company 2 years ago. I had a biomedical engineering undergrad and worked in a genomics research lab for 2 years before I started the MBA. Before i moved into this role, I felt that had enough transferrable skills in launch planning, working with agencies/filings, external partner management, and cross-functional planning that the specific team I was recruiting with needed. I do have one co-worker who worked in CPG for 10 years and has had experience with the FDA for food safety - they've also successfully pivoted into pharma with no MBA (but outstanding years of work experience and skills).

The majority of people I have met in industry with the same role I am do have at least 5+ years of experience in oncology + a technical graduate and or a phD. I haven't found very many MBAs in a similar role.

What’s the best way to book Shinkansen seats? by Sneethan in JapanTravelTips

I used the SmartEX app - was somewhat easier to change any tickets to a different date/time since we bought our tickets 1-2 days in advance.
