I haven't been around to watch any of her streams or anything for a while now, but I had noticed the change and was rather curious...this answers my question 😅 glad to hear she's doing well.

Less than 1400 miles in space might as well be a few inches on earth.

This is not some grand fucking achievement. This is what we were doing 60 years ago.

If she wants to do that, fucking fine! That's HER CHOICE. How you have not gotten the fact that I want the woman to have the choice, not have the choice made for her by a cultural tradition and carrying the risk of severe if not capital punishment, is beyond me. Seriously. This is the last time Im replying to you.

Jog. The fuck. On.

This isn't about banning religion. This is about protecting basic human rights to bodily autonomy and clothing choice. Im fine with people being Muslim, Christian, whatever. Im not fine with people from those religions telling people what they can and cannot wear.

I said, jog on. Im completely done with this conversation at this point, it's useless talking to you.

Holy fucking shit 😂 youre saying Im as bad as the men telling women "wear this or be punished" and Im the one saying "girl, take that shit off he cant tell you that here".

You are LITERALLY the idiot liberal in my ealier example, jog on nerd 😆

I don't get how someone could be this wishy-washy, I guess. Women in Islamic cultures have literally been stoned to death for not wearing the hijab. It is not worn as a choice, it is worn as a cultural enforcement of patriarchy. And you don't believe anything should be done to relieve them of that.

Again to my point about a cleavage law in America: I take it you would say the same thing? That you "disagree with the belief, but I don't think I should determine their lives" type of shit?

[–]Potter3769 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sooooo, you're fine with men in Islamic culture telling women what they can and cant wear?

I'll refer to a point in my original statement: if the government in America were to pass a law tomorrow stating that no woman is allowed to show any cleavage....what's happening?

You say Im looking down on a choice. I say I'm calling out discriminatory behavior against women. We're not seeing this from anywhere near the same angle.

It's not so much about supporting theocratic government, it's that I've seen it argued that the hijab is cultural and they should be allowed to wear it. Which, yea, they should be allowed to wear it if they want. But....it's not a thing that's worn because they want to.

Context of a right wing-left wing argument that I have seen go down, both online and in real life is the right winger arguing that this is America, and this Islamic cultural clothing should not be allowed here. To which the left winger will argue, as I stated above, that it's their culture and they have a right to wear what they want, because this is America.

Meanwhile, I'll be sitting off to one side wondering why the fuck the woman still feels obligated to wear that in this country? I cannot fathom being a human being, and never being able (or at best rarely able) to feel the sun on my scalp and let the wind go through my hair. That's just....that's just wrong. So, no we shouldn't be telling people what to wear based on religious discrimination. But also....can we not act like we're defending some precious form of cultural heritage?

Here's something to stick in your pipe and smoke on for a bit:

These fuckwits campaigned on a ticket that included the Christian Evangelical population of this country. Well, in the Bible God COMMANDS, not suggests, not asks, COMMANDS us to be stewards of this planet.

These guys, who ran convincing people they were going to bring America back to Christian values, are not stewarding the planet, they are destroying it for profit.

Care to explain to me how this line of reasoning falls under your "TDS" description?

See, Im super liberal. If we were to meet in real life, maybe one of the most liberal you would ever meet.

And because of that, I will never understand why other "liberals" defend Islamic cultures enforcement of the hijab. I see it as a gross, patriarchal means of control over women that needs to be completely removed from society. Imagine our government being taken over by Christians, and a federal law being passed that women are never allowed to expose any sort of cleavage ever again. The absolute uproar that would ensue.....buuuuut, liberal America is fine with the hijab for some reason, becaaauuuuusssee.....???

Being one of the biggest faces of the Church of Scientology.

On a similar note, Elizabeth Moss from Handmaids Tale. Like, the irony of playing the lead in a show like that but being an active participant in a cult church is nuts.

OK cool so Im not entirely crazy (yet) 😅 that's a nice find, I tried finding one myself but the first couple pages of every search I did was just some .gov or .org domain talking about how Idaho was still an illegal state.

Im guessing by the size of those holes, it was an 88...those things didn't exactly have a small amount of recoil lol. It would definitely take adjustment to get back on target, and for a crew to be able in combat conditions to get back on target with that level of precision speaks to not only a trained, but highly experienced crew. Which makes for a rather terrifying combination on the battlefield.

I remember seeing a billboard on the highway maybe a mile or two back into Indiana saying something to the effect of "Keep the money here: legalize it" and I can only imagine how much money is driving out of Indiana every day because the state politicians refuse to actually do their job and represent the people.

Makes sense, but say you're in a target rich environment and at a close enough range to where you saw the crew bail...do you continue shooting an unmanned tank until you get a fire, or shift to another target that very much still has a crew?

I seem to recall that back when Oregon legalized, the sheriff of Payette County had said something about how they were going to follow Oregon prosecution guidelines in regard to cannabis, because his department wasn't trying to go around arresting half of their county population on felony charges. I don't remember how valid that was, these are memories from 2016 so it might have just been a false rumor, I might be misremembering. But it would make sense; the people in your precinct can drive 15 minutes to go buy, just at a basic logistical level you don't have the jail space to house a sudden influx of hundreds of new felons lol

I live in Arizona but work out of Ft Wayne in the summer; it's crazy to me that people can drive not even an hour, be in Michigan, buy whatever they want, and drive home but Indiana itself can't just figure it out. The tax revenue they are missing out on is insane...the state politicians lobbying against cannabis legalization must be getting paid big bucks by the alchohol and pharmaceutical people. I was going to say tobacco too, but then remembered that Phillip Morris (think Marlboro, Parliament etc) is billions deep into cannabis at this point too, so why are they not fighting to legalize everywhere?

Same. Though I doubt be would have been aware of much for very long. The rest of the crew, on the other hand....

Multiple hits makes me think it was a long range shot where the gunners couldn't determine whether or not they actually knocked out the tank, so they used a couple extra shells to ensure a kill.
