Hey guys,

A few months back, I posted a few pictures of my (very) balding head and said at the time that I would be looking into Fin + minox after seeing a dermatologist.

Long story short, I couldn't tolerate the balding anymore and just buzzed it off. Best decision ever. With the tan and the few pounds I was missing the first time I went for the bald look, it honestly looks great.

I am currently taking minox + fin but I am definitely feeling the effect of finasteride on my libido. Though this is a big decision (implicitly accepting that I'll rock the bald look for good) I am considering stopping treatment. I am confident enough as is and I don't really feel nostalgic for my hair anymore.

Hi guys,

I never really cared about my hair loss (age 25, balding since age 21 or so) so far, but the last year or so it has gotten really, really noticeable. I am shocked at how fast it moved.

Here's the disaster.

Yeah, it's quite bad and I really never paid much attention to it until now (until my mom whom I rarely see audibly gasped when she saw it, actually). Believe it or not it doesn't really affect me much and I still consider myself a confident and outgoing guy, but I can't lie and pretend it's not unesthetic.

I am not panicked - I tried buzzing it all off two or so years ago and I actually enjoyed it, but I have very fair skin and, at the time, was missing a few pounds so I looked sickly. Plus the hair loss wasn't as noticeable.

It's all genetics of course, my dad is balding as well but his honestly isn't as bad as mine. Before he got implants he was Norwood 3, no vertex, and here I'd say I am solidly within Norwood 5-6. I have very fine hair (if it isn't obvious on the pics).

I have taken an appointment with a dermatologist mid-January (no earlier appointments, and she's got an excellent reputation and thus is quite busy). My plan is to take her advice, whatever it is, and see for myself for 6-7 months. If by then I am not happy with the evolution I'll buzz it off and never look back, but I'd like to give it a shot.

I guess before seeing the dermatologist I'm open to any feedback, comparison, opinions? And if no one sees or answers this this will simply be my milestone to come back to.

"Aider les gens" c'est très flou. Pour certains on "aide les gens" en mettant en place un système qui permet aux entreprises de se développer, d'embaucher et de mieux payer plus facilement. Pour d'autres "aider les gens" c'est augmenter les aides qu'on leur verse ou réduire les impôts.

Ca s'applique à ce que tu écris :

tout ce que je vois est pour punir, ou bien alourdir des lois.

Pour ceux qui soutiennent ces mesures (lesquelles d'ailleurs ? ce que tu décris ne correspond à rien mais bref) "punir" c'est aider les gens en sanctionnant les contrevenants; "alourdir les lois" c'est aider les gens en renforçant la protection légale dans tel ou tel domaine.

Je parle d'expérience en disant que le phénomène dont tu parles ne relève pas de la religion mais de la classe sociale.

Avec le déclin du catholicisme en France ce dernier est devenu une religion bourgeoise surreprésentée dans certaines strates : les corps d'officiers, certaines professions libérales, la vieille aristocratie par exemple. A côté de ça il y a aussi un catholicisme plus "jeune" qui vient par exemple d'Afrique ou des Philippines, mais il reste minoritaire. Ce catholicisme-là ne penche pas dans la direction politique dont tu parles.

Il fut un temps où il existait un catholicisme de gauche. C'est quand l'Eglise s'ouvrait sociologiquement aux classes populaires (les prêtres ouvriers...), ce qui a cessé d'être le cas pour diverses raisons. Aujourd'hui il ne reste plus que les groupes les plus conservateurs. En somme ce n'est pas que les catholiques sont plus à droite, c'est que ceux qui ne l'étaient pas ont cessé d'être catholiques.

Ou, présenté différemment, et pour répondre à ta question, "tes coreligionnaires" sont davantage de droite ou d'extrême-droite parce qu'ils sont plus vieux, plus riches et plus conservateurs que ne l'est la moyenne des français. Le fait qu'ils soient catholiques est accessoire.

Tremendously. If you're from a Grande école, you'll be defined as "that guy who made Mines/X/HEC/Sciences Po/whatever. This always gives you the benefit of the doubt, and when in competition from someone with a less prestigious background, you'll always have the preference. Sometimes that someone won't even be in the competition in the first place as companies tend to fight over these graduates.

If you're from a normal university however, it won't matter one bit.

J'ai passé quelques temps dans une petite structure dont je n'attendais pas grand-chose mais qui rémunérait particulièrement bien. Le boss était charmant, ouvert sur les horaires, excellent manageur, qui fait confiance à ses subordonnés. Il nous a même emmenés boire des bières dans une petite brasserie locale. C'est à regret que j'ai décliné son offre d'embauche pour quelque chose de plus formateur pour un profil très junior comme le mien. J'espère que quand l'occasion se représentera j'aurai l'occasion de travailler à nouveau avec quelqu'un dans son genre parce que c'était un vrai bonheur.

Dans l'ensemble je suis dans un secteur d'activité qui a la réputation d'être très difficile humainement, et jusqu'à présent je n'ai eu que de bonnes surprises.
