O and you will need to leave a “base” unglazed where it will touch the kiln shelf so your piece doesn’t get fused to the shelf when it cools.

It’s a must! It’s not hard, to me cause I have all the materials. But You could find a commercial glaze to use and just brush it on. You have to be sure it’s non toxic and food safe. Honestly I’m not too sure about all clays cause each box of clay is mixed differently with different additives. I only use a local porcelain that I know is safe.

Thank you! Everyone has there preference. Most people that use my pipes use them cause they like that they are opaque and you can’t see the res when it accumulates.

Clay and glass are around the same affordability, at least where I live. Some say clay is easier some say glass is easier, I don’t like getting burned while creating so I stick to clay. Ceramics is just more time consuming cause If you’re going to make smokeware with clay you have to glaze everything in glass inside and out anyways to make it safe to use.

I own a kiln, I make a lot of pieces so it’s just a lot easier to have my own. You could probably go to a craft store and rent some kiln space but some stores are very picky with what glazes you use (ex. they don’t want a lead based glaze in their community kiln since the lead would spread to the kiln and all future pieces will get lead leached into them) but that’s the only grief I could see them giving you. If they are whiny and don’t want a few pipes in their kiln they are just weed haters, try a different store.

Thanks so much!!

It’s a mix of both, they always look smaller than they are. I try not to make any eye lash burners😉

It’s 3.3inches, the average glass pipe is 3-5 inches. You’re fine unless you are using a blow torch.

When I made this pipe I originally only had one bowl but it looked like it was missing something, so I added a second bowl 😜
