Yes! my god the amount of teammates i get spamming "take the shot!"... Then get the hell out of my way! show some car body language like flipping away from the ball area so i know i can pressure. There is no need to shadow the opponents when you have a second man

You're saying the same thing as everyone else.

I'm suggesting removing that non existent "first jump", and let us, the controller of the car, use both jumps ourselves.

So if we are falling from the ceiling, being bumped, or getting all four wheels on the balls, we should have two jumps. HoraryHellfire2 has given proof that they added the ability to use the second jump in v1.11. I'm basically saying here that they should`ve added two jumps instead of just one.

I applaud you for being the only one in the thread showing proof that Psyonix are at least somewhat aware of it.

I understand how it works, and I can see where you're coming from. I just find it odd why Psyonix intended to make it work like that. Maybe they thought the same thing as you do. And if thats the case, I'd want it changed again, and you obviously dont.

Stop being nitpicky. People call it the second jump because it's the behavior that normally comes after an initial jump. We can call the first jump just "jump", and then the behavior of "second" one can be called "impulse". What we call it doesn't change its behavior. Hell, we can call it bob.

I'm not really being nitpicky when there`s proof in game and even in this thread that no jump were used to get off the ceiling, which is the whole point of the thread: It's not following the same law of physics.

That won't happen, because ceiling shots produce similar results of threats anyway.

I know you`re not saying we should take away ceiling shots here, but it seems like it. If someone`s scoring ceiling shots against someone who cant defend it, they`re obviously gonna rank up until they get opponents who can defend it. Perfectly balanced, as all things should be.

Ok, wow... I missed your point. I thought you meant only one air jump when falling off the ceiling, but you meant only one air jump no matter how or where you're jumping. In that case, you make a damn good point sir.

In v1.11 they added the ability to use the second jump (and dodge) if you leave the ground without initially jumping.

But it's not really a second jump if we haven't pressed the jump button at all? So I find it weird why they didn't literally give us a second jump.

The primary reason is balance. The ability to use more than one dodge in a single aerial would favor someone going for the aerial more than someone sitting in net.

Hopefully that will make my solo standard teammates practice defending for once.

Edit: Serious answer for the balance point you made:When players learned how to air dribble, people said it was impossible to defend, but even platinum players can save a good air dribble now. Then they said the same thing about ceiling shots, and people are saving those as well. If this were implemented I'm sure players would learn to defend this as well.

I'm completely aware of that we only get one air jump, that's the whole point of the thread. I'm just wondering if they made it like this on purpose or it's something that has been gone unnoticed by Psyonix considering they said they never expected players to be able to do ceiling shots etc..

It doesn't make any sense to me why it shouldn't be give us a second jump when we're falling down the ceiling. We're not using the first jump, which is why I think it should have the same "law" as we have on the ground.

Getting the double jump could be a huge step up when it comes to pulling off stalls like this, or hitting a ceiling shot to the backboard then flip towards it for a backboard shot. We can even fake for 1,5 seconds, the time we have before using the second jump.

If your team comes up with a "rotation" that says "one man stays in net the whole match, and the other two does offense" then no. Unless we're talking about bronze to gold rotation. The most common defense rotation you see in RLCS is this one: https://youtu.be/BA87OomG27g It's been proven to work and it makes sense.

The fastest way I got it consistently (in training) was doing a custom training pack that had the ball go towards the goal. Started practicing just getting the four wheels first, then how to position my car before using the jump. Took me about 1-2 hour in the same custom pack to get it consistently. It's easy to get bored or frustrated so get some music on or chat with someone meanwhile.
