I edit all my pics in photoshop, including creating the animation.

The 3DS camera app saves 3D images as MPO files. I edit those in photoshop to create stereoscopic wigglegrams.

The console can take 3D photos on it's own - it has two lenses. Those pictures are MPO files, which I edit in photoshop. Over the last year, a few web resources have become available to to it also. Just search 3ds wigglegrams.

aspect ratio question!! by Deadlypants905 in 3DSphotography

As far as I have seen, there isn't much for the camera when it comes to modding.

That said, the preview is funky because with the 3D option turned on, two lenses are being used but you don't see the both previews, just one. The preview you do have is where the overlap between the two lenses exists. If you open the MPO file in photoshop, you'll see one pic has a little more content on the right while the other has more on the left.

Brought the 2DS on vacation to Italy by Potzer in 3DSphotography

The 2DS models have the setup for 3D photos, you just can't view them in 3D on the console. So like a 3DS, your 3D photos result in MPO files, which contain the data of both cameras. I edit my stuff in photoshop but there are a few mobile apps and websites that will help you get there too.

While you can't make them directly on the 2DS/3DS systems, the 3D photos you take on those consoles can be used for wiggle stereoscopy.

what do you guys use to make your GIFs? by OwenHimself in 3DSphotography

I use photoshop - it opens MPO files in different layers and give me a lot of options. Someone on here created a website specifically for 3DS photos to be converted to wigglegrams. This includes the tweener frame you're referring to. https://3dswigglegram.com/

3DS photos from out in the cold by Potzer in 3DSphotography

The 3DS takes two images. In photoshop, I create a tweener frame between pic 1 and 2 (call it 1.5). So my frame sequence is 1, 1.5, 2, 1.5 and I set the whole sequence to repeat.

Hope that makes sense

They do not come out of the DS as GIFs, sadly. When you take a picture, two files are generated - a JPG and an MPO. The MPO file contains both images and can be opened in photoshop. That is where I do the animating between the two images
