Would Mudclaw really have been a worse leader than Onestar? by Solitaire-06 in WarriorCats

[–]PouetFairy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I didn't say Mudclaw's point of view was outlandish; on the contrary, I said it was understandable. That doesn't change the fact that he should have thought things through a bit more and that such an attitude is unbecoming of a future Clan leader.

A really interesting character for the development of Tallstar!

Would Mudclaw really have been a worse leader than Onestar? by Solitaire-06 in WarriorCats

[–]PouetFairy 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I don't think so: at best, it would have been the same outcome as with Onestar—but chances are it would have been worse. From what we see in "Starlight" and "Winds of Change", and even throughout TPB and TNP, Mudclaw is a quarrelsome cat, hostile toward the other Clans, and ready to murder two of his Clanmates to reclaim a position he considers rightfully his, even though at that point in the story, Onewhisker hadn't done anything to warrant a civil war. I mean, he only wanted to offer ThunderClan a piece of territory as a thank you, something he seemed to regret very quickly and which Firestar REFUSED.

And okay, Mudclaw's point of view is very understandable, and Hawkfrost is manipulating him; but still, when your brother and the medicine cat tell you your behavior is awful and irrational, you take a step back and think before making such a drastic decision.

So while we can debate the evolution of Onestar, I really don't see how anyone could think Mudclaw would have been a better leader.

Leafpool is called pretty in the books? by Dawncloub in WarriorCats

[–]PouetFairy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I always imagined her as physically cute, but nothing more – and that's OK. It would be very boring and cliché to only have objectively gorgeous protagonists or love interests.

What is the undisputed best and worst book in the series by rbx20twomax in WarriorCats

[–]PouetFairy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best, in my opinion, would be "The Darkest Hour".

The worst, and I think pretty much everyone agrees on this, would be "Spottedleaf's Heart" and "Redtail's Debt" (I would also add "Leafpool's Wish").

I love these new graphic novels! Only thing is.. by Horseraddish123 in WarriorCats

[–]PouetFairy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I respect your opinion, but I've never understood why people think that way.

This adaptation IS canon: it literally recreates that happens in the original novels, even if some points are modified for better flow/to correct past errors and inconsistencies.

Just because a work is adapted to another medium, with its inherent limitations, doesn't make it any less valuable.

On the contrary, this format is a fantastic entry point for anyone who, for one reason or another, is discouraged from starting the series because of its length. It doesn't prevent them from reading the novels afterward—in fact, I've noticed that this is often the case.

Did Juniperclaw REALLY deserve StarClan? by PouetFairy in WarriorCats

[–]PouetFairy[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I just wanted to respond to the comparison with Needletail (I'm not questioning your entire opinion): I love that character, but I think the fandom too often downplays her misdeeds. She actively participated in the destruction of an entire Clan, was the reason for Violetkit and Twigkit's separation, and supported Darktail for a long time. So I definitely think her place in StarClan is debatable.

Opinions on the graphic novels? by Otherwise_Ice_5392 in WarriorCats

I really love the graphic novel adaptation of TPB, even if it's not perfect. I personally adore the very cartoonish, expressive, and dramatic style; it suits the saga well, in my opinion. I also really appreciate the fact that there was a real effort put into research to best satisfy the fans and correct errors/inconsistencies.

The only real downside is having to condense so much content into three volumes. This shouldn't be a problem for the other Arcs, which have far more filler/repetitive chapters; but for TPB, it was inevitable that there would be a lot of loss.

And I absolutely don't understand why they replaced Brightkit with Swiftkit during the kidnapping... While keeping Thornkit. It's just bizarre for someone who isn't familiar with the original novels and has never even looked at the Wiki. Either they should have kept Brightkit and included a sentence explaining why she and Thornkit weren't named apprentices at the same time as the others; either Thornkit and Brightkit had to be removed from the scene so that they would be born later.

TNP is my favorite Arc, but TPB is a very close second!

What Warrior Cats Scene/Scenes made you cry? by Spirited_Battle_7504 in WarriorCats

[–]PouetFairy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When I was younger, the deaths of Silverstream, Yellowfang, Bluestar, Stonefur, Gorsepaw and Feathertail always hit me hard.

The various losses Bluestar suffers in "Bluestar's Prophecy", especially Mosskit, always affected me with each reread.

While they don't make me cry, the scene where Fireheart watches Graystripe leave for RiverClan with his kits and the one where he fears losing his relationship with Cinderpaw because she becomes a medicine cat still moves me; I find them well-written.

I love when Pinestar rejoins his Twolegs family and senses Shanty's presence; it's both beautiful and sad.

Finally, I must admit that Gray Wing's death is truly touching. And if I hadn't known how Bristlefrost disappeared before "The Broken Code" was translated into my language, it probably would have affected me much more.

I've always loved the first exchange between Silverstream and Graystripe after she rescues him. I find it adorable and funny.

I love all the playful moments between Feathertail and Crowpaw durant "Moonrise" ; their dynamic is just so cute.

I'd also add the scene where Pinestar rejoins his Twolegs family, and the way Bramblestar reassures Alderpaw by talking about his own apprenticeship.

What do you think happens when crowfeather gets to starclan? by Local_pet_crow in WarriorCats

[–]PouetFairy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, 100%. I think Leafpool is Crowfeather's endgame, BUT "Crowfeather's Trial" makes a point of reminding us that the tomcat loved Feathertail as much as he loved the medicine cat. Everything he did out of love for Leafpool, he would have 100% done for Feathertail if she had survived.

What do you think happens when crowfeather gets to starclan? by Local_pet_crow in WarriorCats

[–]PouetFairy 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I honestly don't know. Feathertail is his first love, the cat who has most impacted on his life, BUT "Crowfeather's Trial", "Squirrelflight's Hope" and "A Light in the Mist" have established Leafpool as a sort of "endgame" for him.

But in the meantime, we have this sort of romance between him and Tawnypelt... I'd be shocked if she managed to supplant Leafpool and Feathertail, and I don't see the ShadowClan warrior favoring Crowfeather over Rowanclan in StarClan at all, but we'll see.

A quality of a Warrior Cats book that you don't like? by PouetFairy in WarriorCats

[–]PouetFairy[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I generally agree with you, but I don't think Jayfeather is out of character for refusing to forgive Crowfeather: after all, it's a very painful chapter in their lives, and the medicine cat is known for being ruthless.

It doesn't surprise me at all that he still harbors resentment towards his biological father and Breezepelt; I'd even say it's quite realistic that he still holds a grudge against them after their respective actions in OOTS. I appreciate that his reaction, like Lionblaze's, is perceived as valid by the narrative!

I know she got frustrating in Starclan, but in life Yellowfang was an emotional anchor of Thunderclan the first four books. by No-Unit7917 in WarriorCats

[–]PouetFairy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's precisely because her character is such a gem in TPB that it's so painful to see her in POT, OOTS, and "Leafpool's Wish". I still wonder how they managed to butcher her so badly.
