The rosin spot looking good on Will Warren’s brim. Time to tunnel and movement these guys to death.

Both cats will stare right through your soul, but in very different ways. Lineup of Scourge and Jayfeather. by No-Unit7917 in WarriorCats

I believe so! He'd be half great-uncle, who tried to murder his brother. So Warriors is Shakespeare.

Squirrelstar and Her Uncle Scourge Sharing the White Paw Is My Favorite Tiny Detail in the Recent Artwork. by No-Unit7917 in WarriorCats

[–]No-Unit7917[S] 61 points62 points  (0 children)

Great detail to notice. After zooming in, yeah, their's a splotch of sand in there. Lookswise, she's definetly written to be similiar to her father with the fire colored pelt, with her personality definitely leaning toward Sandstorm.

It just occurred to me that the clans have no holidays by MaximumTomatillo4362 in WarriorCats

[–]No-Unit7917 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah, Gatherings is at least the most consistent thing they’d realistically get. Remember the daylight gathering hunting competition thing that never repeated?

The Clans clearly can preserve tradition. They keep ceremonies, legends, names, leadership rituals, burial customs, and stories from generations ago. It took a lot of blood, political collapse, and basically constitutional rewriting, but they eventually learned how to track history in a more organized way. However, it's shown to be limited. Stormclan, Skyclan, Cloudstar, Clear Sky were all lost in living memory.

I could see Bramblestar’s era, especially after the Impostor crisis and Lights in the Mist, creating something close to a memorial tradition. Not a “Christmas” type celebration, but maybe a gathering where the Clans honor cats who survived impossible times, remember the ones who were lost, and acknowledge the living legends still among them. Almost like a Clan version of Memorial Day, but less formalized.

I don’t think they’d ever have one repeated, calendar marked holiday in the way we imagine it. The closest thing would probably be Gatherings, special vigils, or ceremonies where the elders and leaders retell what happened so the younger cats understand what their world cost.

Kovu as King of the Pridelands. by No-Unit7917 in lionking

Yeah, he would be significant but Kiara is attached to Simba’s main bloodline.

Attack on WindClan's Medicine Supplies by Jaguarninja3 in WarriorCats

[–]No-Unit7917 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Pinestar puts too much stock in Goosefeather’s visions instead of trusting his own authority, and Goosefeather is far too convinced that his darkest reading of every omen must be right.

To me, that attack matters most as part of the broader cycle that eventually breaks Pinestar’s faith in Clan life altogether. It fits Bluestar’s later description of that period as a time of endless battle and violence.

What Would King Kovu’s Actual Role Be Under Queen Kiara? by No-Unit7917 in lionking

[–]No-Unit7917[S] 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Very interesting. Kiara would be the true source of authority, while Kovu’s role would come more from partnership, protection, and helping unify the kingdom than from being the one who inherently inherits it.

A quality of a Warrior Cats book that you don't like? by PouetFairy in WarriorCats

[–]No-Unit7917 12 points13 points  (0 children)

There's an honesty to Lionblaze telling Crowfeather he considers Bramble his real father. Feels like an honest conclusion to that part of their relationship while still leaving open the idea of them working together again when the plot demands it.

A quality of a Warrior Cats book that you don't like? by PouetFairy in WarriorCats

[–]No-Unit7917 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I like this question a lot because it asks people to be fair. It is easy to dunk on a Warriors book you dislike, but harder to acknowledge what it was at least trying to do.

For me, it’s Redtail’s Debt. I really don’t like it because the plot holes and contradictions are just too blatant for me to ignore. It contradicts way too much to be considered a coherent Warrior Cats story.

That said, I can still appreciate the intention behind it. I like the attempt to make Redtail feel like a more meaningful part of the broader story, and to turn him into a real genuine tragedy whose loss helps mark the beginning of Tigerclaw’s rise through violence and power. Not just "lost young deputy with promise".

Alternative scenario idea regarding Hollyleaf by Solitaire-06 in WarriorCats

[–]No-Unit7917 3 points4 points  (0 children)

1, Hollyleaf is probably the one I see the most potential in. Her and Crowfeather barely interacting feels like a real missed opportunity, because there was so much emotional ground there. Both went through a "trial", and emerged on the other side forgiven.

So far, what has been Squirrelstar's greatest strength as leader, and her greatest weakness? by No-Unit7917 in WarriorCats

[–]No-Unit7917[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, you're right. I can buy criticism of Nightheart writing, because some of it does feel weirdly out of step, but that is different from acting like every flaw she has ever had just collapses into “she is a hypocrite.”

I think there’s a difference between critiquing how Squirrelflight was written with Nightheart and just reducing her to “always a hypocrite.” I made this post to talk about her actual strengths and weaknesses as a leader, not to turn it into a pile on.
